Actually, that's exactly what they did. EOL was 3-31-2025, but Rivian stopped allowing app updates last fall (about November, IIRC). I would be a little less annoyed had they not jumped the gun. At least they haven't locked me out of my truck - yet. Although, I suppose, that could happen at anytime.
I purchased *my* S10+ (new) about 18 months ago. Please note that I stated that "my S10+ isn't very old." And that is a true statement.
The Rivian app worked fine with my S10+ at that time. About last fall Rivian decided Galaxy S10 (and, I presume, other phones using Android 12) was no longer...
It'll be fine - I've done it many times. I recommend running at a lower current, though. If I recall correctly the Rivian portable charger won't go over 32A, which is fine - that's nearly a 40% derating for a 50A extension cord and outlet. I also suggest that you should feel the cord and the...
My S10+ works with the app, but won't update to the recent versions of the app (since last fall). I don't know if there is some reason that the newer versions of the app won't work with Android 12, or if someone just decided not to allow it.
My S10+ isn't very old - it's newer than my Rivian -...
That particular announcement means that one will be able to charge seamlessly (the charge applied to the card on file in the Rivian account). I would assume that Ionna chargers (being open to the public) should have already been a charging option (albeit with a card supplied). As such, Rivian...
The only other repair (other than the previous powered tonneau cover repair) that I have had was the tailgate top trim. They repaired it by mobile tech, and covered it as a warranty item. I'm pretty sure that I did not have to sign authorization for the cost in advance. The mobile tech told me...
I had scheduled warranty service to repair my power tonneau cover, and to try to fix my issues with poor cellular reception and hot spot function. They added in a few other things, and then emailed me an authorization to digitally sign, which would authorize them to charge my credit card $3400...
Thank you. I haven't experienced alignment issues (no pulling left or right, or excessive tire wear) in over 40,000 miles - I hope that means that my subframes are good, and were installed properly.
I am looking forward to ordering this, when the China trade/tariff situation is finally sorted out. And I am looking forward to adding Comma to my truck, but it is lower on the list than a topper and an enclosed cargo trailer.
Driver+ works everywhere. Highway Assist will generally only work on Interstate highways, at this time. Gen 2 vehicles are expected to get an update later this year that will expand the mapped areas where Highway Assist will work.
The original trim piece fell off on the road, somewhere. Rivian replaced it under warranty. I added Gorilla Tape along the inside edge, to ensure it couldn't be snagged on anything I drag across it. That doesn't prevent it from being marred, but it's a truck, and that is essentially a...
It has only happened to me once (in 26 months). And that one time was fairly recently, but it might have been before the most recent OTA. I am glad that I had read about it happening to others, so that I knew it wouldn't affect driving, and would be okay after it reset.
Not normal - he's blowing smoke to cover for his inability to get it right.
I don't know how many miles you've got on yours, but with my R1T quad 20" first gen, I replaced the front tires at 39,500 miles (I never got around to rotating them). The front tires were down to or almost down to the...
After reading your invoice, I'm worried about the subframe (whatever that is) on mine (~12000 Vin). My alignment has always been pretty good (still fine at ~40,000 miles). Is there is something about the early subframes that prevents alignment? Is that what it said on the invoice?
I have heard something, in the past day or so, about a change in customs process. Any idea how this affects us? Is it just a delay, or will they be adding huge tariffs?
Or a piece of thick flat (or angle) metal, aluminum or steel, with holes or a slot.
One thing looks certain - J-bolts or U-bolts will be a bit more fiddly when attempting to set it on. Might need additional hands. The Weistec adapters would allow setting it onto the rails, and then adjusting...
