I'll never buy a new ICE car again. I have a feeling my daughter won't ever in her lifetime...
Even a Rivian is more than I need 90% of the time. I could literally use an electric golf cart...The concept of starting up a giant piece of steel with a loud gasoline polluting engine with just me...
Will be interesting because it adds another competitive angle for the makers. For ICE vehicles it was more simple - fuel type (diesel/gas) and then perhaps fuel tank size. Efficiency, MPG, would be the closest parallel.
Battery charging time, how long they last/degrade, and how much energy...
The big deal with the space in front of the console are purses. I can't tell you how many times I am the passenger and woman hands me her purse. I get it, 99% of vehicles (maybe the ones I have seen) do not have a spot for a woman's purse. And most women I am around carry them when they get...
I was going to post photos, but all of yours (all) are better than mine :)
No CarPlay is very odd...I use Waze all the time, and listen to music via Spotify....obviously take calls & texts. Not married to CarPlay, and would certainly jump if something better, but to date not much else is...
Just got back myself, they set it up fairly well, but yeah a little more 'rustic' than the shows I've seen before. The truck was the Blue and the SUV was white. Both looked absolutely awesome. No real new info. Lots of people and lots of excitement. One major upside of the location was free...
Funny location. Its being held at a really small surf shop in Mill Valley (which as some know is not San Francisco, but on the other side of the Golden Gate Bridge)...definitely the affluent outdoor/professional market.
Curious what this is going to look like. I can't imagine this will look...
Cool! The renderings of the Rally are not my style at all...Hopefully they have further offering that are little more sleek and a little less teenager/RC car style...:). Audi/Model S/Porsche/Ferrari would be my preferred design directions lol
I don't really want to get into semantics about the definition of a crossover lol....
But, I would be super into a station wagon or smaller 4 door SUV...200"+ vehicles are too big (in my opinion) for urban environments. GM just EXTENDED the Tahoe/Yukon to 210" - strikes me the last vestiges of...
And back to our regularly scheduled program...:p
This may already be a feature, but some sort of sync w/ an alarm clock on iOS/Android, or time to leavee to get the car warmed up or cooled down. Getting in to a pre-warmed, cooled car every time would be awesome. Has that been discussed? I...
I am not sure how long you have been on the internet, but those are the last words of someone taking a thread about "What would you like to see on your new Rivian or from the Rivian company??" quickly down the drain...It's all good :)
I might have added this prior, but probably deserves a single post callout IMO - the bike mounting on SUVs could certainly use a revolutionary approach. On top of SUV's is a hassle especially for less strong/tall folks (of either gender)...Hitch mounts are a PITA opening the tailgate and they...
I say this having a pre-order and a giant EV fan...
To date, I would not be buying any EV if towing beyond 120 miles was a requirement with any elevation climb. Boat ramp 15 miles away, trailer 2 hours out of town flat maybe, but if I was planning on trailering long distances a lot I would be...
Funny when I see the absence of the transmission tunnel - it screams a place for women to put their purse. Maybe I have not been in enough cars but most women carry purses, and 9/10 times when they are driving they hand it to me! I don't have a place for it either! Lol. Rivian has an ideal...
The tailgate ramp the Tesla Cybertruck has is slick. Easily get/wheel/slide things into the bed. Copy that Rivian!
Ha, even a mini-winch option to pull stuff up so we don't have to :p
Side note - Just checked, Washington state has a lot of renewable energy: https://www.eia.gov/state/analysis.php?sid=WA
And more to come...https://www.greentechmedia.com/articles/read/washington-state-passes-100-clean-energy-by-2045-law
What you are saying makes a lot of sense. But "sense" and buying a Rivian at this point are not totally related. So if that is your primary metric for a decision to purchase, I can see your point.
I want a capable 4wd EV, like the company, and am willing to put up with a lot of shenanigans...
