Disappointed if true, but not a whole lot to be done. There is not another vehicle on the market I want (or even close). I am hoping for 2021, but I guess we'll see. Crossed the two year mark on the waiting list at this point as I am sure many other folks on here have...
Lol...just about the 5%...
When I talk to my GF's friends and they ask how much a Rivian costs, I am a little embarrassed to say $80k. It is one downside of the Rivian for me is the new car/showy thing...never had any interest in owning a Lambo or Ferrari no matter the size of my bank...
It is a little confusing, or maybe I am just confused, but if LE editions will be delivered by Spring 2022, how can non-LE orders be delivered in Jan 2022?
Wouldn't opening the tailgate w/ some sort of extender solve this problem? I guess theft if getting lunch or dinner, but most of the time skis would be in there getting to the slopes and back...
It is interesting that I have not seen a Rivian made one yet, they seem fairly commonplace with...
If you got down with the engineering of it, a table saw with lots of tool storage below, and power for your compressed air tools. If Rivian is successful (I think they will be) we should see some cool gear tunnel stuff...a well designed gear, work surface & toolbox is the low hanging fruit...
As far as private vehicles go, the vast majority of trucks I see driving down the road have empty beds. Day to day 90% empty by my very unscientific observations :)
The gear tunnel would make a great toolbox - locked, out of way, etc. That goes to point #3. Wonder who is going to start making...
At this point they cannot fulfill orders in a timely fashion...They have plenty of time to hype these cars in 2022 when people can actually buy them with a reasonable wait time. I am right at 2 years, so I don't need any more hype...just the vehicle :p
Haha...I get it. Looking forward to 800hp, but I am seriously considering a used golf cart for around town missions w/ short, flip-flops, and coffee in hand...I guess I like the putter vibe sometimes too :)
Commuting, puttering around town, long boring drives why would you not always be in 2wd? A whole lot of cars are, and people seem to like them for those purposes...
Seems like a bit left out of the review...The review appears to have happened 5 weeks ago, and the trucks were likely some amount older, so software-wise (as they actually mention) things were not complete...to answer my own question in this thread on the omission of Alexa, Rivian sounds like it...
I did not hear anything about voice control...seems like a lot of the UI could be fairly intuitive voice control-wise (Alexa?). Has Rivian mentioned voice control? Seems missing from this Motortrend review if so...
Agree. Pay by mile makes way more sense to me. Playing the actuarial game seems a little more cut and dry. I also pay way less as I don’t have a 9 to 5 commute.
Hopefully I can still with Metromile if it still proves to be a value add.
Yeah, I really like it and it really, at least for me,
Awesome. I currently have a flat-fee and then pay by mile which seems to be the fairest policy for me - work from home, and sometimes long road trips. How will they handle high mileage vs. medium vs. low mileage premiums? Is there any sort of pay by mile option? If they just do standard...
