  1. Powered tonneau fix = new dual motors setup

All the ones I’ve seen use a single motor though. Usually they have a lift point on each end connected with simple cables. The problem with the tonneau is its two independent teethed mechanisms and multiple sections. A big challenge to keep both sides in synch. The best chance would seem to be...
  2. Passenger Seat Not Detecting Passenger?

Like you it was on the laundry list so it was going in anyway. My wife is pretty light so when she reclines the seat it goes off, or sometimes when she is sitting normally even.
  3. Passenger Seat Not Detecting Passenger?

I don’t see service fixing it tbh. I have had this since I got my truck 15+ months ago, and opened a ticket. They inspected it and said its working as designed.
  4. R1 refresh update coming in 2024 with upgraded “Ascent” trim / model

I’m not sure the modes have changed significantly? Just the presentation and the “gauges” screen added?
  5. Dumb Rivian owner at Barstow RAN, hogging the trailer spot with no trailer

Perhaps ping Rivian and ask that they better mark the trailer spots. Even a sticker on the charger would likely work. The one in Sacramento used to always have ICE cars parked in it anyway - I think they improved the markings there?
  6. Powered tonneau fix = new dual motors setup

That should just be the tag-line for the whole internet.
  7. R1 refresh update coming in 2024 with upgraded “Ascent” trim / model

IMO the writing is on the wall for the Bosch motor quads. The prod costs for the twins are probably way lower, notwithstanding the extra differentials and additional software/plant tooling costs. So in my mind it’s only a matter of time before the quad with in-house motors launches. It will...
  8. Standard Dual Motor does not get new Gauge View

Personally, it’s nice for nerd value. Would I pay a subscription for it - no. I don’t care how little it costs. Kinda over the subscription model now, and for something that has zero actual benefit to my day, nah. $100 one time, maybe. More than that, nope.
  9. Just got the "Powered Tonneau Fix is Ready" email! Replacement installation appointments start next month (Nov)!

Yeah feels like screwed up communication/execution. I hope their intentions, at least, are good on this. I feel echos of the “exciting dual motor announcement” and (oh massive price hike) right before launch on this one…
  10. Just got the "Powered Tonneau Fix is Ready" email! Replacement installation appointments start next month (Nov)!

From Rivian email 9/21/22: “As you likely know, there are issues with our powered tonneau cover. While most are operating as intended, many are not. We want you to know we are aware of the issue and are working on a solution and a process for replacing existing tonneau covers. Right now, no...
  11. Just got the "Powered Tonneau Fix is Ready" email! Replacement installation appointments start next month (Nov)!

They repaired my cover once, and I’ve basically left it closed for 99% of the time and only opened it when absolutely necessary due to the flimsiness of the design. I think the majority of folks with the powered cover have been doing the same. if Rivian is back-pedaling the retrofit for all...
  12. Vehicle is Raising - Stop to Prevent Damage

Sounds exactly like mine was. Def not right. They definitely seem more motivated to fix things the second time it is raised in my experience- or maybe I just got lucky with who looked into it the second time each time…
  13. Vehicle is Raising - Stop to Prevent Damage

I should add I was noticing the compressor running more and more too.
  14. Vehicle is Raising - Stop to Prevent Damage

My truck used to give this alert all the time after parking for the night. I noticed after a week away the front was on the stops and the back still fully inflated. I had them check it out at service for something else, and they said it was normal. I logged a ticket for it questioning why if...
  15. When life gives you a cracked subframe...Rivian staff save the day!

I am an early VIN 4xxx for the R1T also. Will go through my service visit paperwork and see if a subframe inspection was included in any.
  16. Electri-fry America... results in Critical Battery Error message and my R1T bricked

Not only that but it’s costing a fortune in rentals. Enterprise are the real winners here.
  17. R1S vs Model Y in mud

In sand and deep heavy snow I found sand mode did diddly squat without airing down On street tires. Sand mode seems to bias to the rear motors for insane drifting fun in deep sand, but when you are out of grip it doesn’t seem to help in my limited uses of it.
