Every single new public building in Quebec has some EV charging available in its parking. New hotel next to my house has 20 level 2 charge points available in its parking garage, I’m sure they will add tons more as it becomes necessary.
It’s not a huge expense at all, relatively speaking, and...
All my life in Utah we never got tickets for a lack of a front plate. As far as I know it’s not a stoppable offense. If they already have you stopped for something else, they will ticket you, but they can’t stop you just for that.
Yup. I tried to convince my wife to go for a model 3 but she drove our friends’ and she hated the jerky regen. I tried to tell her “it’s configurable” and it is to a point, but I dunno that she could ever get used to it. It turned her off Tesla forever, prolly.
Maybe that just means I’ll have...
Prius has been doing blended brakes for a decade. Isn’t it configurable in Teslas as well? It seems crazy to me that they’d entirely separate the two systems. Prius (and other hybrid/EVs) have an enormous advantage when it comes to braking, the brakes on the Prius are undersized because it...
This is all true, but isn’t something we see replicated across the rest of the car market. Some cars are cheaper in Canada than in the USA.
Apple has a similar problem where they can set a price for a product and then the exchange rate gets more favorable and they could adjust it down, but...
Mostly. They may adjust the price up above the exchange rate to cover risk in foreign currency, tariffs, or whatever else. In reality the biggest issue is they will charge what Canadians will pay. If Canadians are willing to pay more than Americans for a truck, then they’ll charge more.
Overall...
I’m excited to see this thread pop up and find out that initial contact was made via email, for all of you that are posting about no longer screening your calls ?
It’s true, a guy I work with has seen his Ram increase to $5k more than he paid for it a year ago. However, if you’re like me with a vehicle that is not at all in demand, you won’t have seen much of an increase.
They surely pay several “social media specialists” and I guarantee you they hang out in Facebook groups and forums like these as part of their jobs.
I would love to see some video of the R1S doing some of the easier runs out in Moab, just for the fun of it. There’s plenty of trail running to be had out there too, but tackling some of the easier obstacles would be pretty sweet. Lots of stuff out there looks like it should be easy, but is...
My delivery address is currently in Herriman, even though I live in Quebec.
I’m not sure where we’ll be living when it actually comes time to take delivery.
Quebec has huge incentives propping up the rollout of an electrified charging network. Even up north, it won’t be long before DCFC is available all over the place. There’s 3 DC fast chargers available within 5 minutes of my house here in the city.
Yep. The big use case for the fob that I see is unlock/lock and trunk/gate operation from a distance (albeit short) outside of cellular data coverage.
If my kids wanna get something out of the truck while we’re camping, I can open the frunk for them without getting out of my easy chair.
I used to be in this boat, until I moved to Quebec where they are required 4 months out of the year. I didn’t need them with my foreign plates when I first moved here, but I realized I wanted them when I slid several feet on dry road simply because it was so damn cold.
That experience lead me...
No light pole in a parking lot is wired with the 6AWG cable that would be required for the ~9kW (277V 35A) that it would be providing. That’s at least ten times the current draw of the lamps at the top. Very little money is not how I would describe rewiring all the lampposts in a parking lot.
