We really need to get past the mentality of EVs are only for home charging users. The faster EVs can charge and get full like gas cars, the significantly faster adoption EVs will have.
18 minutes is from 10-80% for 400kw. This BYD is 8 minutes to 97% charge
Yeah I understand the ecosystem needs to be present. But the entire ecosystem will be in Europe next year, and already present in China.
I’m not expecting this ecosystem in the U.S. any time soon :(
BYD flash charging.
This tech seems like a game changer for EVs. @OutofSpecKyle tested it and got 800kW top charging speed and got a full charge in 8 minutes.
Holy cow! Will it ever show up in the U.S.?
Shareholders have not voted for RJ’s comp. The board just gave it.
This same issue was why shareholders sued Elon, and the Board had to create a new comp package and have shareholders vote on it explicitly.
Unless RIVN memes like TSLA does, I don’t think this stock is going anywhere, in part due to future dilutions, which includes potential RJ’s new shares.
And large shareholders do, in fact, care about proper corporate governance
If Rivian didn’t raise money from public markets, then no Rivian today either.
But Rivian did, and now shareholders have ownership rights too.
Jensen Huang owns less of Nvidia than RJ would in this comp package.
A couple of things:
1. RJ’s strike price on the options got reset to $15.22, instead of being where it was previously around the ipo price. Whereas public shareholders have no opportunity to “reset” their holdings. Doesn’t seem fair. At least if RJ’s strike remained at previous level, it would...
You seem to not understand that as soon as Rivian raised $12 billion in public money, shareholders have a right in the company and that Rivian is a *public* company. This isn’t about wealth distribution—it’s about shareholders.
If Rivian had never raised public money, then whatever,
And keep...
This isn’t a private company; as a result, public shareholders matter. And you seriously think if RJ’s comp was half of this, Rivian’s success would be different? Even with just his shares (without options), if Rivian is worth $100B, RJ would be worth $1.5 billion
I understand this is a...
I think Elon and RJ comp plans are the only ones where their payouts are determined, in part, by the stock price levels. It’s just inviting meme like behavior
This was discussed before here:
https://www.rivianforums.com/forum/threads/rj-scaringe-gets-new-pay-package-worth-up-to-4-6-billion.52455/
IMO, I think it’s quite excessive and we don’t need any more Elon style payouts, or really rich billionaires. But, I suspect many people will like it...
