Is it just me or does everyone now choose "same day within 5 hours" instant gratification on the most useless things? I ordered a tea strainer (things were slow in my life Sunday) and Amazon gave me several options ranging from a couple of days to within a few hours. I chose the fastest despite...
Not sure what your vehicle needs are but the R2 is coming out soon. If the R2 was available when I got the R1, I'd probably get the R2 because it seems a lot simpler; specially the suspension. I have ptsd from a LR RR we owned before. If the R1 is a must, I'm not convinced that knowledge of the...
Thank you for a very detailed and insightful post. It's great to see people like you proactively preparing for the future. I'd like to share two thoughts with you that may be of interest. Firstly, I started my solar journey with trying to attempt to get as much energy as possible but a friend of...
Based on your post, I looked up Gaspe and it definitely looks like somewhere I'd like to visit. Any recommendation of hotels and top places to visit? I'd probably fly in to QC and drive up. Cheers.
What use cases do you gents see? I have solar and would only see a need if everything was down. Is there any concern with battery degradation with continued use? Cheers
Anything around 3sec is very fast. Most of the R1s will get those numbers. As much as I love my R1, I dont view it as a performance track car like a McLaren. It just feels (to me) different. Also, most people will not have the skills to manage such a fast and large vehicle. Just ask Alan Ruck.
Alex-if I read this correctly you want to upgrade to a G2 for about 50 miles of additional range. It's your decision but that's not enough for me to consider doing that. If your G1 is trouble free-enjoy the ride. Cheers.
'23 R1S with about 16k miles. No issues at all with cooling in 90+ degrees. It's been consistent for the 2 years I've had it. If you're experiencing issues, I would get it in to the SC asap.
I used to have this issue with my other cars with low profile tyres. I have a guy I use. He only charges $60/wheel. My R1 has 20" wheels and never got curb rash. A few weeks ago I took it in for service and they scratched up one of the wheels. They sent a mobile tech with a new wheel a week...
SC seems to be overwhelmed in a lot of locations. The strategy seems to be hire more and build more SCs. I hope they are also beefing up the factory QC. Imagine a Lexus-like quality in a Rivian. Think what that would do for CX. Cheers.
@BigSkies, great post! I miss camping and one of the reasons for getting the R1 was to re-start that. Life has gotten in the way. But, your post is a good reminder of what's important.
You bring up a good point. Should the SC be responsible for QC or should it be at the point of production? I believe it should be built into the production process and a final QC done before leaving the factory. btw- I know absolutely nothing about manufacturing.
