Penn-test drive as many times as you can. Hang out in the forum. Keep in mind that there will be more posts with issues because people without issues dont normally post. That is not to discount the issues. My R1S is almost two years and it's been trouble free. This is my first EV so I'm still on...
I love rural areas lot more than urban. The air just smells better and I find the pace of life slightly less hurried. Unfortunately, my wife loves the city.
It's a shame that we got to the point of hating inanimate objects. There used to be a preference but now it has to be one extreme or...
It's a smart move. London has very rapidly evolved into an AI hub. I'm working on a project that involves AI and the best talent we could find was in London. Cost, communication and resources are the best.
Congrats! Lots of good advice here. Consider extended warranty. I think there are some Rivian initiated service such as the 12v battery and a/c drain plug. Like other have said, best place to start is with RIvian for an inspection. All the best.
@kanundrum-thanks for sharing. This is my first EV and it's so great to keep getting these updates after the purchase. I remember paying for a new CD every year on one of my ICE cars.
Could not agree more. Was stopped yesterday by a gentleman asking about my R2. He had placed an order and wanted to know about my R2. I was happy to explain the difference between a R1S and a R2S. I asked hime to join this forum so he could research more. So, there are a lot of people out there...
I'll echo what @swflor said-I have had small issues but never stranded and Rivian has made it right every time. Having said that, I dont think you should have the experience you're having. I'd politely escalate until you get to a point where you need to lemon it. Hope it won't come to that. All...
Gregory-R2 comes out in '26. It probably will make it to EU. So, you might have some options there. It's supposed to be more simple than the R1 so that might be a blessing.
This is my first EV (G1 R1S) and I'm very grateful that I get updated improvements. Like a lot of us, all I've ever known are the ICE cars that you get what you see at the time of purchase and that is it. It's like Xmas morning for me every time we get an update. Tank turn or whatever G2 or G10...
No such thing as enough! Quad-yes! 1,025HP-hell ya! Let's stuff it in there and see if it holds!
Seriously, I agree with prior posts about the R3X being lighter and needs the appropriate power delivery.
Lastly, it's so interesting to see the amount of interest the R3X has garnered vs any...
You bring up a good point. I installed my first solar system about 3 years ago. As it was my first time, I didn't add batteries. This is what got me thinking about an EV and eventually a Rivian. I plan to add batteries in the future. Between this and my work set up; I drive essentially for free...
You're either lying about your age or a very young 81. Photos please. This is fantastic! What was the route you took? Cheers.
Edit: I just caught that you live in Samish. I was near there last autumn. It must be the beautiful place. Your biological age is probably 31.
That's what I was going to suggest too. Specially because it's an interim car. I like Tesla but this is a hard time to buy a new one. The potential depreciation concerns me.
Congrats mate! Car looks smart. Love the mods. I'm at 16k miles and it's been great. Like you, I'm still learning. Please, continue to post as I enjoy them. Cheers.
