Maybe Iām just an optimist, but R1 is an immensely complicated vehicle so itās not surprising it has issues. R2 seems to be far simpler with way less bells and whistles that cause issues.
1. Don't worry about it. No one is parking in your driveway to charge their car for hours.
2. No home charger that I'm aware of has that capability anyways.
3. Add the wall connector to the Tesla app. You can see when it is in use and shut it off if you wanted.
4. Get a camera and face it...

There are other chargers around but theyāre POS stuff. Nothing like you would expect as a baseline standard like 500 amp minimum. No one is doing any serious charger installs other than IONNA, Tesla, and Rivian. Walmart is starting but Iāve yet to see any myself personally. EVGO puts some here...
