  1. Pretty (subjectively) expensive vehicle this R1T (but happily bought it anyway)

Congrats on the purchase! Will be a fun truck and you got a fantastic color combo! I have the Forest interior and it's absolutely one of my favorite parts of the truck. I think initial purchase price is one thing, but the fuel really adds up over time. Figure $2k-$3k in fuel savings you can...
  2. Standard Dual Motor does not get new Gauge View

This thread should just be closed. Rivian pulling through for the DM crowd. Case closed. (But people better be ready for differences to occur in the future)
  3. Standard Dual Motor does not get new Gauge View

@GHuff if anyone buys a vehicle with the expectation it will significantly change with OTA updates, it's a setup for disappointment. So silly people have become. What you said here is true: "The vehicle as it stands today is what you are buying. If anything isn't perfect, so be it. That's on...
  4. Standard Dual Motor does not get new Gauge View

I do hope you Dual Motor people get the gauges, if only because Rivian didn't put disclaimers out there on launch and the poor UI execution showing the swipe...but, it's SO SILLY to get upset about this when you bought the truck WITHOUT these features. That's it. Rivian will get better at...
  5. Need help with first camping with R1S!

Definitely reserve a campsite ahead of time, check out reserve California website, it will help you find a spot. Plenty of beautiful places on the South Central coast, just keep your towing range in mind and look ahead to map out charging spots.
  6. What Mode and Height is Your Default?

Before recent suspension update (R1T) I stayed in this setting most of the time. All Purpose Soft - comfy and composed* Standard height - for most suspension comfort and handling High Regen - love it, barely need the (excellent feeling) brakes *These days I'm missing "old" Soft and I see here...
  7. MAX PACK Dual Motor Performance is delivering!

So from Quad Motor Large to Dual Performance Max, you save $500, get 170 less horsepower, less drive modes, lose the yellow accents, lower mileage warranty, higher weight, BUT you get 60 more miles of Range in Conserve mode? No, I'd say it's not worth it. I have the 20" AT Quad Large and have...
  8. What do you want addressed in the next OTA update?

Adjustable Proximity sensitivity for phone key. More Suspension adjustment settings.
  9. Saw a Cybertruck on the road ...

The Rivian R1T is such a nice departure from traditional angry looking pickup trucks covered in fake vents. Makes all the ICE trucks look the same to me. I am really happy that Tesla is bringing the CT to market. It will make our automotive landscape more interesting! So much hate towards it...
  10. Bloomberg: American Cars Are Developing a Serious Weight Problem

All EVs are heavy, especially trucks. But the real question is why does the latest BMW M2 weigh nearly as much as a Model 3??
  11. Received my manual tonneau cover and the slats already broke

Yes, they could have used a number of impact resistant plastics over that stuff. It's the winter cold that you have to worry about - it will turn brittle plastics into glass... I really wanted the Rivian cover at $800 but when they upped it to $1800 I went for the Interrobang cover and it's SOLID.
  12. RAN Powered: PDX to NorCal & Redwoods

Nice trip - I basically did the same loop a few weeks ago!
  13. “New” Quad Motor R1T pricing is crazy and not sustainable (even if Cybertruck priced higher than original reveal price estimate)

Pricing of R1T quad is reasonable. Expensive, yes, but reasonable. The Dual Motor also exists and still compares favorably to all comers at a discount. A 4.5 second pickup on air ride loaded with features for 75k is a deal.
  14. 1500 miles through Oregon and NorCal with the R1T. Camp Mode + Auto Leveling may be my favorite feature

Tamolitch Falls aka Blue Pool, about 1 hr from Bend. It's a 5 mi easy round trip hike but well worth it for the views. Some people jump from the edge into the frigid water.
  15. 1500 miles through Oregon and NorCal with the R1T. Camp Mode + Auto Leveling may be my favorite feature

Let me tell you about Diamond Lake, which sits just North of Crater Lake. It's very beautiful to look at and there are tons of sites along the water. We had a nice end spot with great views. BUT the bugs were insanely bad! Gnats in the sun, mosquitos in the shade. We spent most of our time...
  16. 1500 miles through Oregon and NorCal with the R1T. Camp Mode + Auto Leveling may be my favorite feature

Hit Crater Lake, Burney Falls, Diamond Lake, Bend, Tamolitch Falls, and the beautiful Pacific coastline. Ended the trip camping in the Redwoods. RAN made this trip so pleasant and it really was a great experience. They are all over this region. This truck eats miles with exceptional ride...
  17. F150 Lightning gets nearly $10K in price cuts

About time Ford lowered the Lightning price. I've always considered it too expensive for what it is, especially compared to a R1T.
  18. So frustrated about no spare

Yeah, kind of ridiculous to withhold spare tires from customers. If you buy 4 and split them, it's still more expensive than the original option that also included a jack. I'm likely going the Ram spare route... I never used my ZR2 'matching' spare so I'm not that concerned with the style matching.
