It certainly wasn't my intent to get anybody in trouble. Like many here, I am just eager to get more details on these vehicles that will start being delivered in a little over a month... The only one of those accessories that seemed associated with a price was the Gear Shuttle ($1,500). That may...
They came from the configurator site. When there was mention that they had made updates I was curious and checked it out. I'm a software engineer and like to look at the raw data feeding a site and noticed them as part of a JSON payload. It looks like they have since been removed.

Not sure if it will be accessories this week, but I found some Rivian images showing at least some of the accessories that are probably coming (some known; others I hadn't seen before):
Gear Shuttle
Charger (image labelled with Wallbox brand)
R1T...
The Q&A with a guide that had been posted (http://crusticamerica.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/04/Rivian-QA-Notes.pdf) indicated that it wouldn't which would be disappointing.
If it is truly launch green, CS would have just pointed people to this picture or a picture of the finished vehicle when they have been asked for real world representation of the color. It's possible that this was a non-finalized version of it.
I imagine there is a room at the factory with thousands of launch green variation samples scattered about and a designer rocking back and forth in the corner muttering to themselves.
In my mind there are way too many questions to be answered yet to slow the information flow. Frankly I have expected either the pace to increase or releases of more than one "topic". It wouldn't be a good use of the guide's time to have to repetitively answer the same questions and then have...
I would love to have seen more videos like this from Rivian rather than the "lifestyle" videos where we try and glean information from each video frame.
I have had Starlink as part of the beta for several months now which has been an ginormous improvement over Centurylink DSL. Only problem is I live in the woods and I have several huge fir trees within the obstruction window that cause intermittent disconnects. They just sent an email last...
I had previously mentioned in this thread that flats are not uncommon for me as I frequently travel well off of paved roads. My sister works at AAA and told me that they would not have come to my aid in the locations I have had flats. I guess if I planned on treating it as a pavement princess...
I would say the fact that this is an "adventure" EV puts it in a category where it would be expected. I average a couple flats a year in my travels off the beaten path and am disappointed that it isn't standard.
I am pretty sure that the Rivian navigation is being built with Mapbox (https://www.mapbox.com/automotive). I noticed some github activity that seemed to imply it and Rivian's Director of in-vehicle UX transitioned to that position from his role of "Director of Product Design: Automotive &...
McCall makes a lot of sense, but I would prefer Moscow over Lewiston though maybe stick a Waypoint charger at Hells Gate State Park. Lewiston isn't exactly a favored destination of mine, though it would be fun to take the Old Spiral Highway in a Rivian.
There was an article that quoted a Rivian spokesperson that indicated the vehicle will determine whether terrain is appropriate for tank turn by “estimating the surface friction before enabling the feature.”
If I were to design it, I would probably do a two part test by first locking the rear...
