It will be interesting to see how the economy, stock market and interest rates affect existing R1 reservations.
More than one buyer is going to rethink a $80k vehicle purchase right now. Rivian may be having reservations in regards to adding a 2nd shift.

I feel your pain but please remember that Rivian is a brand new auto manufacturer going through a lot of growing pains right now. Rivian should have this process down to a science in the next couple of years.

I do like your math. $5k for a set of 5 20” dark wheels with tires AND the spare kit seems reasonable. It totally changes the appearance of the truck.
If optioned on your truck it would have been $4600 and you would not have the standard 21” wheels and tires.
The 20” dark wheels look awesome. It’s the best looking OEM wheel option from Rivian.
I am sure the $3500 option seems like a bargain now compared to purchasing them after delivery!
You can bet that Rivian will slowly start de-contenting features as the months roll by to save on manufacturing costs.

3x the normal amount of seam sealer? Their sealant supplier must be super happy!
My guess is the 36” wading depth requires a massive amount of seam sealer for the BIW.
