Tow rating is "total load of all optional weight in the vehicle plus the full weight of the trailer" = 11,000 lbs.
Then you have to take into account tongue weight. Which subtracts from the *vehicle* load rating. Dual-Large should have a load rating of 1,764 lbs.
Tongue weight should be 10-15%...
Also…. Where are they storing the furniture when it's folded up? The renders show a couch and dining set that are way too bulky to fold up and fit in its "compacted" state.
Yeah, no possible way that can house 25kW of solar. Missing a decimal point - supposed to be 2.5kW mayhaps?
Also, they haven't posted any updates or press releases since last February. Yet apparently they have a booth at CES? With a very hand-built mockup. Feels sus.
I'm guessing that's a Ford ChargeStation Pro? (Which charges the vehicle over AC in spite of being a CCS plug.)
Edit: Although, wait… The CCS->NACS adapter wouldn't pass the AC pins through, so… That just does nothing at all even if it is a Ford ChargeStation Pro.
So… A couple issues going on here.
#1 is "expectation was not met." That is partly on Rivian for not making expectations clear this early in the J3400/NACS transition.
It is also partly on OP for diving into a vehicle purchase without doing due diligence. This is the second "major change of...
Portland Winter: n - "Generally mild, with the occasional ice storm causing a complete halt to all driving in the city for 1-3 days, happens once or twice every couple years."
(My tree-hugging incident happened in Feb 2023. A couple inches of fresh snow had fallen after the ice, then sunny day...
For me the opposite. I had hoped the Pirelli AT tires would be sufficient for Portland winters, but the icy days proved too much. I had to put snow socks on after one incident of tree-hugging.
Seeing the headline, I was thinking "zeroth world problems", but the use case here is actually a legit use case.
But the big question is - what did you do before having the Rivian? A ton of clickers? Three "HomeLInk" buttons plus slightly fewer clickers?
It sounds like the primary complaint...
It's the fact that you post as if your personal experience is absolutely indicative of major problems for everyone.
It isn't.
Yes, some people have problems. Some people have more problems than most. That doesn't mean that there are systemic issues fleet-wide. Presenting it as such - "Rivian...
I'm thinking there's just something wrong with your specific vehicle. I don't experience any of that.
Yes, there are occasional software updates that have issues. They're generally resolved with the next software update.
My father's brother's nephew's cousin's former roommate, who works as a tint installer at a shop that does Rivians told me that R3 will start shipping in February. That's as good as fact from RJ's mouth.
Yeah, definitely not a real Magic the Gathering card, nor an official Rivian-made sticker. Completely something fan-made.
Oh, and "Illustrator: Westley Roberts"? That's "Farm Boy Westley, the Dread Pirate Roberts" from The Princess Bride.
It was working on demo drives? I don't recall any demo drive showing off tank turn.
A friend of mine was the driver during the infamous tank turn demo video Rivian released, and Wassym was crouched in the back seat with a laptop forcing motor controls manually from his laptop. It was never...
