A number of people here seem really misinformed on the reaction of the public to the Cybertruck. Sure, a few haters don't like it, most normal people LOVE it! I would guess it's at least 90% to 10%. I know they are not just being polite because they are super-enthusiastic about the Cybertruck...
Technically, it wasn't Elon that donated the NACS standard to the public domain, it was Tesla. Elon made the decision to do it, but it was not a gift from him.
And yes, Tesla did donate the development, testing and engineering costs of the NACS standard to the public, free of charge.
You are...
$14,000 dollars? That's crazy!
The same impact might not have even damaged a Cybertruck, or maybe just cracked the plastic lens of the daytime running lightbar.
Demand for EV's has not dropped, it continues to increase, albeit at a slower rate of growth.
It looks like the mainstream media has suckered you into believing something that is simply not true.
In my opinion (as a life-long outdoorsman), roof-top tents are a flawed concept, for most use cases.
Sure, if you regularly camp in poorly drained soils with heavy rains that create standing water, maybe a rooftop tent is worth all the disadvantages vs. a traditional tent erected on the ground...
Tesla crowd-sources real-time traffic movement. Therefore, they know when a road is not closed, even if the map data is incorrect. It costs $100 per year for Premium Data Connectivity, of which real-time traffic data is part of.
I never said that.
What I said was, " I guess I have missed all the racist, antisemitic, bigoted statements Elon has made. I don't believe he is any of those things."
It makes no sense to treat your mainstream customers worse than those buying the top-tier models, just because the product is more expensive. Automaker's profits come from their highest volume cars, not their highest priced cars. They need the volume to be profitable.
Yes, there are boutique...
Yes, meaning it's a dramatic display of irrationalism and hate. It's sad to see so many people ignore the facts and cling to made-up narratives designed to turn us against one another.
Sad.
I guess I have missed all the racist, antisemitic, bigoted statements Elon has made. I don't believe he is any of those things.
I have seen people take some of his comments out of context and claim he was those things but I'm not so gullible to buy into such unsupported theories without any...
As soon as it was announced some Superchargers were going to be opened to all, a lot of Tesla owners felt blindsided. But I did educate them on how this would be a good thing for accelerating the transition to EVs and that we should be gracious hosts.
I'm not so stupid as to think I could...
No one said that, no one implied that. You are being unnecessarily divisive.
For the transition to electric transport to be as painless as possible, people need to work together. It's not helpful to create an "us vs. them" mentality.
Most Tesla owners are served well enough by the Superchargers that they don't want to deal with third-party DC fast charging networks, which are generally more expensive and less conveniently located anyway. But it's not up to Tesla whether Tesla drivers can charge at other networks so it makes...
What are you doing differently from everyone else to keep it from failing? Keeping it clean and lubed? Is there an adjustment that helps prolong failure? Or are you just crossing your fingers?
Dang! It would be more work just to get the spare and jack out of the vehicle (from its buried location) than it would be to just plug the tire that was already mounted to the wheel on the axle.
That's not a very "adventurous" attitude! I would rather plan on making an emergency puncture...
