My PAAK has become a bit flaky in recent weeks. I'm waiting until the temps get warmer than the 20' s for a high to spend time on it. Sometimes it won't unlock, sometimes it won't start, sometimes both, and other times it's fine. Right now toggling the BT seems to work. Normally the R1T would...
To close out this unfortunate saga, my insurance agent had me send them the bill that Safelite Insurance (who handles glass claims for my insurance company) would not pay. My insurance company opened a Comprehensive claim and issued me a check for the full amount.
Should be a hit and run, no charge for you on your insurance if you file a police report (at least in Massachusetts). Even If you reattach it you really should have a recalibration. Not saying you really need it but your overhead camera view may not work correctly.
For point of reference, my new windshield tab was just a hair over $2K installed and recalibrated by a Rivian Certified collision center. With so many vehicles now requiring recalibrating, it a wonder Safelite is still in business since they don't to a complete job.
A certified shop can go the "Bondo path". My front corner was hit by an extra wide Jeep tire while parked. New bumper, wheel liner and many plastic pieces, but they did an undetectable repair on an inch long sharp dent in the fender at the bend over the tire.
Called me last night about the knuckle bolts. I explained I wasn't taking a 2 hour boat ride and then drive an hour to the Boston facility for this and would like mobile service to do the work as they visit our area every 6 weeks or so. The guy asked if I had a solid flat surface with 6 feet of...
So now I've joined the cracked windshield club. Happened using the defrost to melt ice but I had hard a sharp hit a month ago so that was probably the root cause.
My insurance lets Safelite handle their glass. They can't do the recalibration and want me to drive to Boston after they install...
M bank couldn't seem to give me a wire advice so we FedEx'd a check a few days before delivery. We were on a tight time schedule and couldn't wait around for them to verify a bank check at the SC. We basically threw caution to the wind and it worked out fine.
I was honking my gen 1 OEM horn at a deer the other day (didn't bother him but made me feel better) and I had to open my window because I couldn't hear my own horn!
Those blaming regen for lack of braking indication must be too young to have ever regularly driven a stick shift ICE. Using the gears and clutch was a lot more fun than using the brakes, and there was zero tie-in to the lights.
I presume there is now a regulation covering Jake and Exhaust...
It could go either way but check out this thread that looks eerily familiar.

4 months later it was totaled.
Unless you use it I would replace it with a drawer. I got the one from BestEVmod and shelved the speaker. I taped the contacts so it doesn't lock. I wish there was a way to unlock it from the quick access pullout menu on the left of the screen but it's just too cumbersome.
Maybe it's just my truck, but if I just keep the slightest pressure on the accelerator the brake lights, as indicated by the dash, stay off. If I let off completely they indicate on. This is the first I've heard of blended braking and regen. I guess I need to look at the Driver+ screen.
So doors unlocked, vehicle on and in Park, and it won't unlock. Doesn't sound good.
BTW, I put tape on my drawer contacts so it wouldn't lock. I would have liked a locking drawer but it was way too cumbersome.
I would reboot the infotainment system. I just removed my speaker and put in a drawer to replace the missing glove compartment. The speaker works well in the shop in my barn bluetoothed to Sirius on my phone.
Just got mine back from its second collision center visit in 6 months. First went from $12k initially to $26k and the second from $1.5k to $7k. We had an Explorer in for work a few years ago and it went from $1.2 to almost $8k. Hard to estimate with all the Hi-Tech equipment on cars now until...
I get mine back this week from someone clipping the front bumper while I was parked. This time is only 4 weeks in the shop. The time before someone scraped the side, two doors and a rear fender replacement and it was 3 months. I agree with SolartoEV that you should expect 8 weeks and $10-15K...
We have a 2 hour ferry ride to the mainland and will always take the R1T because we can stay in the vehicle no matter how cold or warm it is outside. The alternative is to get a purser to call the elevator so we can get our dogs upstairs off the vehicle deck because they don't like the narrow...
