I've seen all of this recent news on Gear Guard and plugging in a USB stick to enable capture of "incidents" Where exactly do you plug in the USB stick? I've looked in the manual and it just seems to reference "an external storage device.
Interesting. I have this all the time for anywhere when we travel on the ferry for 2 hours to get to mainland America. For a while the screen will show us 20-30 miles from where we are, but eventually the GPS catches up and suddenly it is spot on.
I have a hard time understanding how a wifi...
This is pretty common on newer vintage vehicles. I measured my Bronco Sport when I first got it and I recall it drew 4 amps for 5 minutes just because I opened the door. Lots of relays clicking and cooling fans in the headlight assemblies turning on.
I'm going through the repair process now on my R1T. Someone backed out of a parking space and two doors and the rear fender got ripped. Cosmetic really but a lot of it.
My local shop couldn't get parts so they suggested a Rivian certified shop. It took the new shop a while for them to get it...
Personally I think apps are an unnecessary distraction unless the vehicle is not in motion. I've gotten so used to using my phone I barely use my PC. Who needs a big screen for everyday communication anyway. Stop and use your phone or Siri or your preference while moving.
I recently completed an extensive survey from Rivian. The only real complaint I have is the driver assist. I suggested they go drive a Ford Bronco Sport equipped with 360+ to see how it should work.
Just maybe you would consider adding your wife's phone as a key. I'm not saying you need to let her drive it or anything, but she could put stuff in it! ?
I must be missing a part. I only have the cover. BTW I have to say this is by far the easiest to take off and install compared to the pry off/ snap on Ford covers I've had.
Finally took our R1T DM Performance out onto the soft sand beach where I patrol as a ranger. IMHO it performed better than the F-150 I drive when working. As for Soft Sand mode, it was nice to have Stability reduced by the setting, but I would have preferred to see Regen Off instead of reduced...
A recent software update provided an automatic fine creep control in reverse. I found it works great with my boat trailer. Between the camera and the fine backup control, hooking up was a breeze.
Too many conspiracy theorists here. My guess is Wokka1827 nailed it and that the owner of the mysteriously unsecured R1T has the Rivian Widget on the front page of their phone which is why mine is now on the last screen! The fact that the OP was there to witness the unlocking is kind of like a...
