$0.53/kWh in ICE terms=$17.869/gallon of gasoline. That's where.
Just so you know, when posting anything, you accept and indeed should rightfully expect replies from anybody. Fair game, you are unless of course you are afraid of debating issues.
It is actually simple math, easy to figure out.
R1S Gen1, 135 kWh battery pack, mine good for 308 miles = 4 gallons of gasoline energy equivalent = 77 MPG equivalent. Very inefficient in terms of EV efficiency.
And when EV users are getting scammed at DCFCs paying 5, 6 times the price of energy...
You know, The glorious Tesla supercharger network allegedly is built as a not-for-profit operation. Perhaps there is some truth to that, or else Tesla is the lowest scammer in the DCFC industry. Either way a win-win.
I went the very cheap route and it works great. Got two mid-size towels wide enough for rear doors, hooked up 4 suction caps to each with paper clips. They attach to windows perfectly fine and protect the doors quite well.
Sure, still can open windows depending on how high suction cups are...
My R1S has been sitting in my garage in storage, undriven, for 6 months. Shipping mode, power set to off in camping mode, SOC set to 50%, recharge when it gets down to 20%. Have charged three times. Time between charges changed from 20 days to 81 days after I plugged in a battey tender to OBD...
Well, well, good to see more folks opening their eyes to what I forever have called the greatest state-sanctioned scam, rip-off perpetrated on mankind: cost of juice at DCFCs.
If you did some more math, perhaps you might have figured out that the average cost of 1 kWh of energy for ICE vehicles...
I am wondering about the OP siuation and his Wi-Fi service perhaps not reaching the vehicle If OP has not done so, perhaps instead of using a Wi-Fi extender, get a couple of mesh routers. May solve any and all dead spots.
OMG, the key. So horribly ICE, so horribly passe, so horribly absolutely not, never again. And that goes for the [expletive] fob also. Good riddance to both. Phone rules, amen.
The only time I had a windshield cracked and replaced (fully covered by my insurance, no deductible) was when I became a dumbass getting too close to vehicle ahead. Wised up, became a smartass and now always stay the hell back from vehicle ahead. Funny, no more windshield dings.
Smartass good...
With the RAN scam prices in place, it is now only the unbeatable, always reliable, great, lower-priced Tesla network for me and my R1S.
And I shall use nothing but the great Tesla network, except on those very rare places where there may not be a Tesla charger. My R1S might as well become a...
Heck, even Tesla still misses some speed signs on the freeway, especially those posted higher than usual or when they are in pairs, speed for trucks and cars. My R1S seemed to work mostly well.
Have used Pet Mode on my R1S Gen 1 many times and for at least an hour at a time. It works as well as it does on my Teslas.
I typically set it to a low temp. setting in the summer, 67 or so I think it is. Not sure it really gets that cold in the cabin, but my two dogs always are chilling...
Have been using a Lectron adapter ($120) to charge my Rivian with my Tesla WC. Solid, reliable, bulletproof. A2Z makes another excellent adapter that costs less ($95), both before discounts. No reason to buy anything else, and definitely stay well away from those lesser and cheap adapters...
I discovered Walmart two years ago. For groceries, I will never go anywhere else. The best/lowest prices always bar none without having to buy 100 lb. of everything.
Walmart's apparent philosophy for reaping untold fortunes (charge less!) may very likely be applied to its new EV charging...
Michelin said it best: because so much is riding on your tires.
DT will not fix those for safety reasons.
Replace the tire, not worth it. Wanting to get more miles out of it akin to penny wise and pound foolish.
