I too concede that what I originally said was not quite accurate, and that it is likely that the face blurring is the CYA attitude and precautions that organizations showing videos take. I bet that there is a site somewhere that has the original video as is.
Or for privacy and protection, company policies in place for good reasons, etc.
So the argument between what I said and you replied is essentially semantics at best, or else potato, potahto.
O.M.G. You could not be more wrong if you tried. PPF cracks, yellows over time. I call bs.
Perhaps if you go DIY or have it installed by PPF 'R' Us mom and pop shop d0own the street, it will.
My three EVs each has full PPF installed. XPEL PPF. For there is PPF, and then there is XPEL. And...
Rivians, at least Gen 1s, are one of if not the most inefficient EVs. 2 miles per kWh, drink electricity as if there is no tomorrow. Still far more efficient than your similar ICE SUV or truck.
Sitting in my garage in storage, shipping mode, everything shut off, my R1S burned away 30% SOC in 18...
DIY or probably installed by Dryer Outlets 'R' Us.
As for outlets used to charge EVs, even if outlet is EV rated, constant plugging and unplugging, session after session of long sustained maximum amperage, what could go wrong?
Hard wired wall charger for me always. Have had two Tesla wall...
You are getting cracked windshields at a very high and unusual rate because you simply continue to follow vehicles too closely.
Stay the [expletive] [expletive] back farther away from the vehicle in front of you already!
Or else, don't be surprised by the results. Or else, keep it up and buy...
Do you own a Tesla?
Do you know what Tesla Sentry mode is?
Did you know that Tesla introduced Sentry mode in 2017 precisely to combat, and it has very effectively, Tesla vandalism and theft?
All rhetorical questions.
Sentry mode makes Gary look like an amateur at best and a Sentry mode crude...
Great that you found a great EV to save wear and tear on your Rivian. It made me think of an R3 when I saw your photos, power button and clusterf of buttons notwithstanding.
I hope it all works out for you.
The long commute sucks, but if you go to the gorgeous Big Island regularly...
My R1S still loses 2-3 miles per day with a battery tender via OBD port, BUT, the tender has reduced vampire drain significantly.
Without battery tender, and my R1S in storage, first two charging sessions were 20 and 19 days apart (drain 50% to 20%, charge back to 50%).
Plugged in tender a while...
Left home wit 100% charge. Travelled 206 miles to the first charging stop. Arrived with 38% charge left. Driving in All Purpose mode, standard height. I do keep my R1S speed at 65 for the most part, but that is because I am never in a big fat hurry to get anywhere on long trips.
No conspiracy theory here. Just seemed odd that Rivian apparently is the sole decider on what the height of some(?) vehicles will be at any time, not the owner. Or else it overrides owner settings regularly. It sounds like a I-call-bs thing, but have not read anything about it other than OP...
If starting from scratch, I might have purchased an R1S G2, the best one of the bunch. Just to be made "obsolete" by the G3, the G3 by the G4, etc. It is never-ending.
Plenty happy with my R1S G1. EVs like these are high-tech, computers on wheels. Technology improves year after year. The...
From what I can recall from driving my 2024 R1S Quad last year, there was a somewhat faint whining noise coming from the motors, and I actually like it or else not mind it at all.
Are you saying that in some sort of devious arrangement with or to meet some sort of capricious EPA requirement or whatever, Rivian has actually decided that it will be the sole decider of what the height of your vehicle will be at any time, not up to you anymore!? More wear and tear on parts...
