  1. Would you still buy your Rivian today?

2024 R1S Quad Gen 1. Like it a lot. What an SUV should be and look like. And more. No regrets whatsoever. Main things I like: 1. Has been trouble-free, at least in the critical powertrain area. No problems of any kind 21 months in. 2. Loooove the glass roof. 2. No clusterf of ICE-age...
  2. ‼️📯Horn Upgrade Volunteer Needed - Passenger Side Horn Models Only

Yet you cannot help but be a loyal reader of them. Priceless. Thank you very much!!
  3. ‼️📯Horn Upgrade Volunteer Needed - Passenger Side Horn Models Only

Were my Rivian a guinea pig candidate for a horn, 3 figures cost of shipping it to a completely unknowm company, 3 figures to ship it back. But I got a free horn. Woohoo!!!!!! C'mon. Roll your eyes all you want. Only those who have even the most basic financial knowledge, apparently you are...
  4. REALLY hot HV battery on road trip

I tend to think such is the case. For me, at least I never linger in the fast lane going 65; semi's probably none too happy.
  5. Tire Wear has been great (minimal)

Is 34 the typical pressure to air down to? Any factors to consider that determine what that pressure should be? Thanks.
  6. REALLY hot HV battery on road trip

Just completed a 1k mile trip on my 2024 R1SQ Gen 1. Battery pack was at 94 F; started preconditioning automatically one hour before arrival to fast charger. Temp dropped to 76 F when I got there. 80 degrees outside, driving on Conserve at 65 mph max. The second time, AP mode, 90 deg, driving...
  7. ‼️📯Horn Upgrade Volunteer Needed - Passenger Side Horn Models Only

For me, a free horn (appreciated) is of little relief at best and not a free experience by any means that would actually bleed my wallet dry because of the huge transportation/shipping costs to and from your shop. Make it a truly gratis affair by covering ALL costs.
  8. Tire Wear has been great (minimal)

10k on my R1SQ Gen 1 with 21" Pirelli Scorpions. I too have driven on AP mode only. My Pirellis had 8/32 fronts and 9/32 rears at 7k miles. Still plenty of tread today. No complaints, like a lot how they ride. So much so that will buy those again come replacement time.
  9. Tire Wear has been great (minimal)

Rivian gave me a 2023 dual R1T loaner. It was a nice truck, but coming from an R1S Quad with such blistering acceleration, let's just say that driving a dual took a bit of gettig used to the rather anemic or adequate get-up-and-go.
  10. R1T Collision: seeking opinions

What a terrible thing to happen to you on a trip. It sucks to no end. Great that you are ok. Have seen other Rivians with less damage get totaled and insurance companies opting to total right away because of high repair costs. I myself would push for totaling your Rivian. As far as repairs...
  11. How has your paint held up?

My "fantasy" PPF as you call it. 5 1/2 years on my Tesla Raven, that vehicle looks as good as new, even better, actually. Fully wrapped not on PPF but XPEL PPF with Opti-Coat Pro+ ceramic coating. Done professionally by folks who do that for a living, not by some fly-by-night, DIY, or by a...
  12. How has your paint held up?

I suppose I'll never know how good or bad the paint is. Like my other EVs, my Rivian has had full-blown, professionally installed thick 10-mil XPEL PPF coated with Opti-Coat Pro+ ceramic coating from day one (actually after the mandatory 30-day, no driving, post-delivery waiting period to let...
  13. How has your paint held up?

My 2004 4Runner looks actually very good still. A few paint dings here and there, of course, but I have waxed it faithfully every year (it would take me a day and a half to finish the job.) No paint fading, discoloration, nothing. So much so that my 4 Runner looks far better than paint on...
  14. Don't blindly follow the nav!

Perhaps this is related precisely to how Rivian navigation and vehicle location tracking work. Contrary to the common belief that you always will know exactly where your vehicle is at any time, what you actually will know always is the last location where the vehicle was when wheels/vehicle...
  15. Don't blindly follow the nav!

Navigation just shows the route to your destination. Of course, it does not mean that it wants you to get in the water. The oh so-great WSDOT ferries! I did notice what you point out during my trip to the divine San Juan islands last weekend. Sure, navigation was showing the route over the...
  16. Brake Lights on Deceleration

Just returned from a trip. Looking at the display in front of me, I noticed that my R1S tail lights lit up perhaps more than they should, I thought. Decelerating; slowing down noticeably; taking foot off the accelerator; don't know what I did or did not do; just kept thinking that tail lights...
  17. What is your "minor wish?"

Bottom line, Rivian covered all basis. Key fob for all of you ICE-age holdouts, :), PAAK for the rest of us. Amen.
  18. What is your "minor wish?"

I wonder if you have a lemon, period. Travelling today, PAAK and auto lock/unlock proximity are simply flawless, DIVINE. Rivian got it sooo right. PAAK and an EV are two supreme peas in a pod. Would never have bought my R1S had it offered only a detestable, hideous, insidious...
  19. What is your "minor wish?"

Dead serious. Tesla wrote the book. For me, give me the complete, liberating PAAK always. Teslas have a keycard also, which I never have used. Have never used the keycard on my R1S, either, much less that abomination, detestable ICE-age POS key fob. I myself do not mind at all the digital...
  20. RAN chargers total 780+ stalls, 123 locations, 37 states (with 65% open to all EVs) - as of August 5, 2025

And mum in the earnings report about pricing, I suppose. With such absurd, horrible, rip-off prices that PC folks call "less competitive," Rivian might as well have deployed 10M chargers. Still the same for me, i.e., no, thanks. Currently on a long trip, nothing but the glorious, ultra reliable...
