  1. 7.5K Tire rotation and inspection cost breakdown ?

I never quite understood this maintenance schedule for Rivians as if they were ICE cars. Had the 7.5k service done because my R1S needed a couple of thngs fixed that only SC could do. Have no plans to have it seviced again. The way I see it, it is an EV, not an ICE car; not much to maintain a...
  2. 3D print custom QUAD badge in development

I do not have time to read all the messages nor do I care to.
  3. 3D print custom QUAD badge in development

Please, do tell about what Rivian attorneys have to say about your entrepreneurial idea.
  4. What is your "minor wish?"

Talk to Tesla, reverse engineer a Tesla, etc. to learn how to do [fill in the blank] right. Yep. That pretty much sums it all up.
  5. Charging: RAN, Tesla SC or Electrify America?

Likewise, I fast charge only when taking the occasional long trip. RAN was great last year, perfect, relatively low prices. Fine. Then RAN decided to jack up prices and join most other networks out there. In my neck of the woods, RAN charger costs $0.60/kWh. A few miles to the East, the...
  6. Charging: RAN, Tesla SC or Electrify America?

Have you tried perhaps a different dispenser? Have seen that with some Tesla dispensers also; moved over to another one, better. I charged at a Tesla SC yesterday. My Rivian started preconditioning one hour before arrival: pack temp. lowered to 76F from 95F when I got to it at 10% SOC...
  7. Charging: RAN, Tesla SC or Electrify America?

I never forget my introduction to EA. Missoula, MT. The great Tesla supercharger at U.S. 93 North, $0.35/kWh, $0.45 for Rivian. 7 miles away, other side of town, EA cost $0.64 kWh. Typical highert cost for most of the other charging networks, a total scam and fraud in my view and the reason...
  8. Charging: RAN, Tesla SC or Electrify America?

As fas as I know, it is my Rivian, or any EV for that matter, that determines the charging rate and charging curve generally.
  9. Charging: RAN, Tesla SC or Electrify America?

Tesla superchargers are everywhere, ubiquitous. Even if not all of them support Rivians, there are still lots of them that do. They are ultra reliable, and do not suffer from the deranged, absurd, pickpocket, rip-off, no-thank-you electricity prices that most of the other networks want for...
  10. Day Trip in my R1SQ Gen 1. The Good and the Awful La-la Land

Getting to drive my R1SQ Gen 1 again after being in storage since November last year. Some software upgrades since… Went on a day trip yesterday around northeastern WA, 400 miles. The highlights: Excellent to be able to plan my trip on the app perfectly and send the navigation info to my...
  11. Tesla must pay portion of $329 million in damages after fatal Autopilot crash, jury says

If you could get over your apparently hopelessly depraved ignorance about and likewise hatred for Tesla FSD, perhaps we could have a reasonable discussion. It is simply not worth my time.
  12. Tesla must pay portion of $329 million in damages after fatal Autopilot crash, jury says

2019, stale as {expletive]. Individual is stupid enough to dive down for a phone, blame Tesla, blah-blah. FSD was never promised to fix stupid. Let's keep it real, that way also, okay? Thank you.
  13. Google maps WTF

Whenever I have used Google Maps on my Teslas where there is no cell coverage, turn-by-turn instructions remain working always; map screen goes blank, but the route blue line stays on unaffected, working just the same. Once cell coverage resumes, map graphics display comes back automatically.
  14. Altitude display wrong

Used many times, elevation data on my R1S is spot-on. Verified and confirmed spot-on accurate. Quite precise as well.
  15. Google maps - alternative routes?

Using Google Maps for a very long time, my Teslas always give me alternate routes when selecting a destination, if available. Just like my phone or my PC does.
  16. Tesla must pay portion of $329 million in damages after fatal Autopilot crash, jury says

Tesla ADAS technology is light years better today, 2025 AD, than what it was in 2019. Amybody who actually owns a Tesla would know this.
  17. Pet Mode SoC Limited

I do appreciate the tip about leaving the A/C on instead and that it may set off the alarm. Good to know.
  18. Pet Mode SoC Limited

Have used Pet Mode many times; this incident was a one-off, no biggie. Funny, she still suggested that I get a windshield screen. I do try to avoid using my sign on the dash as much as possible because it may draw unwanted attention to my dogs, which always get on their very comfy bed in the...
  19. Pet Mode SoC Limited

Two wrongs never make a right. EVs are still a nascent technology. Vast majority of people, the well-meaning ones included, do not know about, let alone understand this Dog Mode/Pet Mode feature that makes EVs so special and great for traveling with our beloved pets. It may take a very long...
  20. Pet Mode SoC Limited

Thank you for the tips! Tesla's Dog Mode will not turn on if 20% or less SOC, either. Neither will Sentry Mode. Would it have helped to lower your windows some instead? Have seen a few ICE owners do just that. Not for me and my dogs. Have learned that getting down to and past 20% SOC is...
