Coming from the LR4, the R1T definitely feels larger, which it is.
LR4 190″ L x 75″ W x 72″ H
R1T 217″ L x 79″ W x 78″ H
Ridgeline 210″ L x 79″ W x 71″ H
I like this size truck a lot (which is a good thing I guess).
Love the long term for RIVN and the truck is an amazing first step. It’s early yet but the response to the R1T is very positive. Demand is crazy of course. Production ramp-up will come.
Just a cover for the rear seat and my dog and her mud gets in there just fine. I’ve been using a canvas tarp but have a hammock on the way. That will also keep her from joining us up front to watch the road and getting the center console muddy.
For me, the more important issues outside of wireless charging and personal storage are: a) more efficient battery (charging and range) and b) improved autopilot functionality.
However, for a brand new build and platform, it’s pretty darn impressive how good this R1T is. For those new the EV...
For a couple of months I’m going to have to be reliant on public charging for the R1T. I have an EA station nearby which is my main go to. The speedis ok - I have been charging at pretty high battery levels so see a big drop-off in charging rates as the battery fills up but it’s a bit pricey @...
I’m back to just plugging in my iPhone 13 and using the wire pass through channels for the usb-c cable. As someone else pointed out, the issue is that that pad space for the phone is really where other ‘stuff’ wants to be so either you hide the phone somewhere or go back to a traditional phone...
I just ordered the Dakine small version which fits the Ridgeline. We’ll see how it works out but the pad is an easy solution and leaves the hitch free for other uses.
Although we have lived for years with our Model S and no wall connector/charger without issue - just have had the cable plugged into 14-50, I have just picked up two Tesla wall connectors. One for the Model S which will be a Model X (soon?) and the other for the R1T - with an adapter. We’ll see...
Delivery process smooth as a baby’s behind ? right on time this afternoon. The most amazing thing is how it rides… the way it handles pavement irregularities, just fantastic. Fast and spacious. AP seems a little rough but expect it to improve as Tesla’s did. Did I mention it’s a 4x4 truck with...
I have had a Tesla for 5 years and have just charged with the cable plugged into the 240v plug in the garage (25-30 mi/hr). A wall connector or charger is nice but you can survive quite well without one.
44 hours to my delivery ???
Rivian will survive just like Tesla has survived (and grown). Painful, poor production, huge losses at start, great product demand and come out the side sitting pretty - or that's how I see it ?
