It’s a good point, but I would counter with that, while the R2 is indeed a brand new model for Rivian, it is NOT in my opinion a Version 1 product.. everything Rivian has learned about engineering, design, systems, integration, production, manufacturing control system, process, quality control...

I know that current and possibly prior owners will have preference but i doubt it’s absolute. Meaning I doubt that a current R1 owner who put in a reservation last week or maybe even much of last year is going to be front of line compared to all the non owners who flooded the reservations day 1...
