  1. Stranded After Charging - Towed and Repaired

This was on level 2 station. I could plug back in and get it charging again. Seems the software still doesn’t allow driving after fault. No damage visible, but no signal would pass through one of the wires. I assume this was a communication wire.
  2. Stranded After Charging - Towed and Repaired

Yes strange. If it has a charge you should have the option to move it to somewhere that doesn’t cause an inconvenience or even drive it to a service center.
  3. Stranded After Charging - Towed and Repaired

The support employee told me to manually close the charge door as part of the troubleshooting to no effect. I found it impossible to manually open afterwards.
  4. Stranded After Charging - Towed and Repaired

I had an unfortunate "adventure" after charging my R1S. I was snowboarding with my family in Whistler over the MLK weekend. I arrived Friday with 24% left after traveling from Seattle with one fast charge adding 39kWh on the way. The extreme cold hit my range (separate thread in Seattle Area...
  5. EV accidents

I feel it is not just EVs, its is just different car design and operation and this can happen between different brands of ICE too. Saying that, I would like the option to have creep mode when parking. I find those small movements a lot easier to do in my Volt than the R1S. My S has been in the...
  6. L2 Charging not working

I think I have the same failure. After unplugging from level 2 public charger car was unusable. It is now at SC having charging wire harness replaced. 2 months from delivery.

    Seattle Area Rivian Group

@EchoDelta Spent all day (7am -8pm) before pick up to Vancouver SC. Yesterday they diagnosed failure of wiring harness from charge port. Will take a few days to replace. It better be covered by warranty. Luckily a friend was in Whistler too. I returned to Seattle with him and picked up my...

Disaster has struck. I had R1S level 2 charging in Lot 4 overnight. After taking plug out car did not recognize that plug was removed. Charge door would not close and cannot drive it. Two chats with support and lots of troubleshooting and now Rivian is going to tow to Bellevue.
  9. How to report street speed limit errors

That is too cheap and obviously prone to error. Rivian should be doing better.
  10. How to report street speed limit errors

Certainly doesn’t read signs. Rivian gets most of Seattle wrong.
  11. Plates after delivery

There are a lot of variables, but in WA state it took 3 weeks for me
  12. Cascadian

    Seattle Area Rivian Group

@CMH See my new post about my second trip in much colder weather yesterday. Only 1.67 miles / kWh. Stopped in Squamish for a boost.

Welcome. How did trip to Cascades go? I assume a ski/snowboard trip? I drove up to Stevens Pass and back before holidays with no issues.

2nd drive to Whistler more challenging than first: Crown Hill to Whistler Friday 1/12/24 Even though I installed new software and set to precondition before departure this trip was a challenge. Arctic air spilled down through the Fraser Valley causing low temperatures from 27F in Seattle to...
  15. Nav struggles with crossing WA in winter

Thanks but I’m not making the trip. I was just playing with the Rivian app nav at lunch and was amazed how weird the route suggested was.
  16. Nav struggles with crossing WA in winter

I was just wondering how to get to Winthrop, WA from Shoreline today and saw weird results. The only open route is I-90. ICE vehicle would take 5 hours according to Google. According to Rivian AP I should charge in Edmonds and Burlington (!!!) before attempting Snoqualmie Pass and run out of...
  17. West Region Guide Nonresponsive

I went 3 days in the middle of my purchase process with no response to my questions by text, email and voicemail. Only when I called but didn’t leave voicemail did I get a call back. shame that you are getting the same response.
  18. Initial Impressions with R1T and Rivian Leasing Process

I had a 98 Subaru Legacy wagon with air suspension that was cushy at all speeds. However, the lean through tight corners was hilariously large. the R1S leans very little for a tall vehicle.
  19. Initial Impressions with R1T and Rivian Leasing Process

I agree with OP. Ride is great at higher speeds and during cornering. I am disappointed with the less than 30mph straight line ride. It feels jiggly on Seattle’s crappy city streets. I was expecting an air suspension in Soft to be better.
