  1. Manual tonneau covers update by Rivian

I received a UPS notification that a package from Rivian will arrive tomorrow (8/30), but I’m not sure what it is. UPS says shipment weight is 8.5 pounds, which sounds light for the tonneau cover, IMO. I also recently ordered the tailgate bike pad, which lists at 5 pounds so maybe my shipment is...

  3. Campstream AC Tent Cooler full review on R1T

This Campstream is interesting and something to follow, but I need heat more than A/C where I camp. I got this for $84 and used it to keep my tent warm in 32F weather and I think it used ~4% battery all night. Caframo True North Heater. Low Profile, Quiet, Powerful Heater for Work and Home...

  7. Rivian R1S Becomes First Production EV to Complete the Rubicon Trail!

I’m okay with this run being considered stock since the tires and drivetrain were unaltered. I also suspect the rock sliders could be in testing to be an original equipment option, so then this becomes no different than someone just using a different/higher vehicle configuration. Just like...
  8. Swapped R1T for R1S – Initial Thoughts

I went from older R1T to newer R1T and this solved the missing under dash 12v for me. I just need usb power for my left-side dash phone mount, so the ODB port location is also better. Scosche Universal 5.ft USB Hard Wire Kit with 18W USB-A QC 3.0 Port and OBDII Connector OBD2QC3-SP...
  9. Q2 2023 Results -- $RIVN on the right trajectory: earnings solid and revenue, margins all heading in the right direction

+1 didn’t hear anything about 400,000 EDVs to Amazon. As an ex-Amazonian working for AWS Sustainability, I can assure you their 100,000 EDV commitment is such a MAJOR messaging point, that if it was quadrupled, you would have heard Jassy say it himself 100x by now!
  10. DIY temporary tonneau / bed cover?

I got my dark ash wood styled tonneau done today and just created a new thread for this specific build, in case anyone is interested. https://www.rivianforums.com/forum/threads/vinyl-%E2%80%9Cdark-ash-wood%E2%80%9D-styled-diy-tonneau-plus-camp-table-for-under-350.17359/
  11. DIY tonneau cover in vinyl “dark ash wood” + plus camp table for under $350

Here my take on a DIY tonneau where I wanted to use six 9ā€ vinyl flooring planks to get the 54ā€ length. I built two 27ā€ sections attached to 1/4ā€ plywood so that I can use one or both as camp tables. This was a very easy build until I got to some final details regarding the weather stripping...
  12. Removing back seat from R1T - Step by Step

Excellent work, JJ! I was recently considering these brackets to add folding legs to another project. If you wanted some corner supports, maybe they’d be of use to you (or something like it). 2 Pack Folding Bracket-Self-Locking Hinge-Leg Fittings https://a.co/d/4qK9Qeg
  13. Are the ventilated seats wimpy or is it just my truck?

+1 mine don’t seem to be working well. I thought maybe it was related to true summer heat vs previous uses of mild heat, but now I’m thinking something is up. I’ll try the rear climate vent thing and also keep an eye on updates, since maybe that’s also related here.
  14. DIY temporary tonneau / bed cover?

Thanks again for sharing! These are the vinyl planks I’ve ordered going for the dark ash wood look. I see this as a temporary solution until I receive my $800 Rivian cover, although if it comes out nice and I feel it has longer term viability, I’ll sell the Rivian cover and keep this (perhaps...
  15. Do you have a 12 v outlet in dash area?

My delivery guide said the wiring should still be there when I expressed mild disappointment I had no interior 12v. I’m sure someone more motivated than I will re-add the interior 12v by end of year. And if nobody does, maybe it wasn’t that important, after all. OBD to USB probably solves the...
  16. DIY temporary tonneau / bed cover?

Thanks @Bf3! Yes, they’re waterproof and I’m aiming for the dark ash wood look. I’ve looked into maybe finding some sort of UV protectant and/or if they can periodically be re-darkened over time via some sort of ā€œstainingā€ process. I think I can do this for about $200 total. Any structural...
  17. DIY temporary tonneau / bed cover?

Has anyone tried vinyl plank flooring? I’ve just ordered a carton of six 9ā€ x 60ā€ planks so I’m thinking that’s exactly 54ā€ length and I just need to miter saw my ends to 55.5ā€ or whatever it is. The planks are 8mm (0.3ā€) thick and I’m thinking about gluing them in sets of 3 (27ā€ x 55.5ā€) on...
