  1. RedTiger VC-70 Dash Cam Review

After much (too much?) fiddling around with collecting and editing videos, dubbing in audio, etc. I've finally finished my review of the @Redtiger VC-70 Dash Cam. Since I've never used any other dash cam, the only thing I had to compare performance to is the stock cameras in my 2024 Gen 1 R1T...
  2. Rivian Patent Filing: BEV architecture design without any low-voltage batteries

  3. Rivian Patent Filing: BEV architecture design without any low-voltage batteries

Do you mean the links I posted above to uspto.gov sites? Or do you mean the broken ones in the article the OP linked? Hmmm... Now I'm getting "unauthorized" as well on two of those links I posted. No idea why. If you try the general one for searching on the US PTO website, that one still...
  4. 2025.34.01 Charging Cost Bug

Those costs are quite high. Perhaps it's assuming all charging is on the RAN or some other boneheaded thing like that? It's easy enough to just ignore the obviously bogus info, but it's also unfortunate that we can't get a reliable reading this way. It's not like the math is difficult.
  5. Rivian Patent Filing: BEV architecture design without any low-voltage batteries

OK, the patent that the article refers to is this: US 12420876 B2 Which can be found here if you want to read the details...
  6. Gen1 R1T CCS V2X success

Congrats on your system! That's awesome! The CCS standard is inherently bi-directional charging compatible. The limitation has always been, as far as I know, the equipment on the home side. My buddy who bought a Ford 150 Lightning was all into this and looking to use some home-side equipment...
  7. 20" Inch Goodyear Territory AT 275/60/20 Factory AT tires + saving $

So... Capital One noticed I've been looking at "Goodyear Wrangler Territory AT 275/60R20XL 116H BSW", and sent me an email from Capital One Shopping to tell me about a great deal they have: "A Tires Easy deal for you. Earn 20% in Rewards, Up to $250". When I clicked on the link, the supposedly...
  8. 20" Inch Goodyear Territory AT 275/60/20 Factory AT tires + saving $

Turns out it's almost certainly not... There is, apparently, a special RIV variant. All these tires have almost the exact same name. It's just nuts. I have found the RIV variant on Tire Rack (but they're out of stock), and Discount Tire...
  9. 20" Inch Goodyear Territory AT 275/60/20 Factory AT tires + saving $

Oh, wait, it's not that one, is it? It's probably this one, which is considerably more ($269.99). https://www.tires-easy.com/275-60-20/goodyear-tires/wrangler-territory-at/tirecode/734095640 This one has a load index of 116 (vs. 115 for the other) and a speed rating of H, so very different...
  10. 20" Inch Goodyear Territory AT 275/60/20 Factory AT tires + saving $

@B Digs, is this the Rivian-specific tire you've referred to? https://www.tires-easy.com/275-60-20/goodyear-tires/wrangler-territory-at/tirecode/734087640#j-product-specifications At $174.29 that seems like a pretty good price, but I also see it's only S-rated for speed, which makes me wonder...
  11. Crazy Deal on Tires if you have Amex & Cap One (10% to 45% off retail)

My theory is that @cohall has been shopping for tires, so they're targeting him with things related to that, while the rest of us are just responding to news of a possible good deal with curiosity and haven't been shopping recently for tires. So... Start googling tires and talking about buying...
  12. Crazy Deal on Tires if you have Amex & Cap One (10% to 45% off retail)

Actually, they like him 200% more than the rest of us... 30% off is three times as much as 10%, so 200% more... ;) And me? They like me even less. I do nearly 100% of my spending through my Capital One card, and all they offered me was this.
  13. Comma 3x/ open pilot question

Getting "No Panda" could mean you need to unplug the second "USB-C" cable, flip it over, and reinsert it. It's actually an ODB-II cable and has a necessary orientation. I got the No Panda error as well when I first started using Comma. All I needed to do was flip that cable over and reinsert it.
  14. Headlights Blinding When Trying to Plug In Charger

I agree it's annoying. It's minor, but annoying, and yes, they could improve the situation with a small light inside the charge port. Can you use your hand to block the annoying/unwanted/unneeded light? Yes. Should you need to? No, I think they should have given this common use case more...
  15. 2023 R1T Rear End Collision - input request

Glad no one was injured, and the only damage you've suffered is to the back of the truck! Things like this can be sooo much worse. I'd say you look like you got out really lucky on this one - based only on appearance and the lack of "errors or driveability issues". I had a low-speed collision...
  16. No more solo Diamond Lane in CA [Admin Warning: NO POLITICS]

Hmmm... So they can comply with the federal rule and send out a notice, but you're suggesting they might just ignore the enforcement aspect? I suspect that's unlikely, and wouldn't advocate for anyone to test the theory. If they found a legal way to implement their own state-wide approach, that...
  17. No more solo Diamond Lane in CA [Admin Warning: NO POLITICS]

I get your (and other's) points that the interstates are federal, and these things can be tied to federal funding. I'll leave that one alone as I don't want to take this to a political topic. I'd just say that's unfortunate and leave it there. As to the other point, that one is much more...
  18. No more solo Diamond Lane in CA [Admin Warning: NO POLITICS]

Must they? I respectfully disagree. Perhaps CA and other states will move to set up their own system, though I have to wonder if there's some sort of federal funding tied to this. While this doesn't affect me where I live, I think it's a pretty dumb thing to do.
  19. Bug - pet mode

My dog "deliberately" tampered with the AC settings on her side (she rides in the passenger seat as I've got two child seats in the back). She likes to put her nose close to the vent right below the screen, and I think she inadvertently used her nose to open up the climate controls and adjust...
