  1. ? Estimated Delivery Date Window is LIVE! What’s Yours?! ?

Because the email reads (in part): The delivery window estimate in your Account has been temporarily set to “Processing new estimate” as we finalize plans for when we’ll have a Service Center in your area. We plan to update your Account with a delivery window in January 2023. As we continue...
  2. ? Estimated Delivery Date Window is LIVE! What’s Yours?! ?

I totally get that. It why I was only mildly annoyed that I was seeing R1Ts that were ordered years after my order get delivered locally. What has me wound up now is seeing people in multiple markets that have R1S orders -years- after mine with delivery windows. There are people with delivery...
  3. ? Estimated Delivery Date Window is LIVE! What’s Yours?! ?

Nope I'm a 2019 preorder for R1S, less than 5 miles from a service center. Estimate is "in process" with a promised update in January.
  4. ? Estimated Delivery Date Window is LIVE! What’s Yours?! ?

That's not it. I -have- a service center less than five miles from my house, a 2019 preorder, and no estimate.
  5. ? Estimated Delivery Date Window is LIVE! What’s Yours?! ?

I got the same, and I live less than 5 miles from a a service center, with an October 2019 preorder. They are flat bedding trucks from more than 200 miles away here for service, right next to my neighborhood.
  6. ? Estimated Delivery Date Window is LIVE! What’s Yours?! ?

At least most of you seem to have windows. I haven’t read all 36 pages of the thread yet (on a road trip, have been driving) so I apologize if my comments don’t reflect the most up to date info I don’t normally get too wound up about this stuff, but after opening my email I’m fully pissed. I...
  7. Poll- Will the delivery updates release as promised (end of October?)

The updated product/delivery windows will be printed on the underside of the tonneau covers on the new R1Ts coming off the line.
  8. Rivian drops Max Pack from latest post? ?

For a lot of people, yes. I daily drive a 2015 Model S. But--I make a trip every month or two that is 484 miles door to door. For that reason I keep, maintain, and insure an ICE SUV. I drive it every week or two to keep the battery charged and the oil circulated. $10K to eliminate that need...
  9. A few noob questions…

I’m not 100% sure, as features have definitely been added (and a handful lost) via OTA updates, but I think the model S had this since at least early 2015 when I bought mine. I’m certain it had geofencing for the air suspension ride height in early 2015
  10. Received R1s First Mile Drive invite

A friend of mine who ordered I think in spring 2020 and lives in rural North Carolina got an invite. She ordered the R1S after hearing about my order. The closest service center to her house is in Atlanta, GA, 2-3 hours of driving. I ordered in October 2019, and I timed the drive from the...
  11. Rivians Are Not Avaiable in All Areas

i know it doesn’t help much, but I feel your pain. My preorder was placed in late 2019, and I’m still waiting, no guide contact, and I live perhaps a 10 minute drive from a service center. I agree with others that I wouldn’t characterize Santa Rosa beach as “very rural.” We have a second home...
  12. Kim Java’s posing shatters glass pano roof…

I'm surprised that with this many replies, no one has yet mentioned this as an obvious solution. Installing these around the perimeter of the roof from the factory should significantly reduce the likelihood of influencers sitting on the glass.
  13. West Tennessee/Memphis

A friend just sent me this photo from just outside of Memphis, TN. North of the I40 corridor on the northeastern edge of the metro area. He spoke with someone based in Nashville who was unloading a Rivian service truck. He said there was no local staff yet, but they were working on it. I am...
  14. R1S big enough to sleep in - Business Insider says YES!

I've done that at the airshow in Oshkosh, Wisconsin (which coincidentally is next week this year). I was in Camp Scholler, which is reported to be the largest private campground in the world during the airshow. I had a tent set up, but the weather turned ugly one night so I just moved my air...
  15. Tesla to open Supercharger network to non-Tesla vehicles

I don’t do a lot of cross country driving in my Tesla, but have made several 1000+ mile round trips in the eastern 1/3 of the US, using a couple of dozen different supercharger sites. I have never encountered a non-functional supercharger in eight years. I did have an issue one time, but it...
  16. R1S Delivery Update Email (June 30, 2022)

I got the same window. like others above, I’m pretty sure they’ve known this for a while and could have communicated it. I’m a 10/2019 preorder with BM interior, so I agree it’s not the Ocean Coast that’s the problem. I also have a pretty early Cybertruck order, which i never really expected...
  17. R1S updated estimated delivery window email (received June 11)

It’s all opinion of course, but my personal experience with Tesla has been good from day one. They were a bit farther along (my VIN is 78***) than Rivian is at this point, but I was able to order and receive a car in a reasonable time frame, exactly as expected. I’ve needed little maintenance...
  18. R1S updated estimated delivery window email (received June 11)

This is indisputably true. To rub salt in my metaphorical wounds, I saw a launch green R1T in my neighborhood today. i live squarely in the middle of “flyover country,” so I expected somewhat of a delay for infrastructure I bought my Tesla when there were no superchargers (or public fast...
  19. R1S updated estimated delivery window email (received June 11)

I’m in exactly the same position, not in a “preferred” market, was willing to wait for the non-LE max pack and 5 seat configuration when told it was six months. My preorder date was 10/6/2019. Sigh. it makes me think of this classic bit of cinematic art when I reflect on my choices.
  20. R1S updated estimated delivery window email (received June 11)

Bump (again). Still very interested in any R1S updates. I really wish that Rivian would be upfront, and try to explain the algorithm. Maybe things like: “if you’re in one of these 10 markets, you might see a vehicle in the next 6-9 months. Otherwise expect a year or more.” ”We ran out of...
