Yep, theyāll send an email right after the two week window, saying they really meant in July all along.
Then theyāll increase the chocolate ration from thirty to 25 grams
Preach, brother ;).
In effect, we backed a really expensive kickstarter, and now we are being ignored.
You sir, are an artist. Rivian should hire you as the new communications director. It would be hard for them do do worse than they are currentlyā¦
I just did, and was told a few things:
There are still emails waiting to go out, so if you haven't gotten one yet that doesn't mean you're definitely pushed into 2023.
She said she was still seeing my original delivery window, but that was subject to change by the email.
I could not get her...
I really hope that's not correct. My last delivery window (from 12/2021 email) was Oct-Dec 2022. I got the non-update update, which promised an update within the next two weeks. I fall into the original "2022 delivery window" tranche with my October 2019 deposit.
No followup yet
FWIW I received the ānon-updateā update as well a few minutes ago
10/6/2019 preorder, previously had an Oct-Dec 2022 delivery window, not sure what to expect now.
Totally agree. Iāve been driving a long time, and have always paid cash for used cars. As my resources grew, the used cars became nicer ( a couple of almost new Porsches, several high end BMWs, several mercedes) but they were always āinterestingā cars which I flipped or passed down in the family...
I did, October 2019 preorder. I have an October-December delivery window, and last week got an email response from a question at the beginning of may--was told my delivery window still on track, and the there might be an opportunity to move up since a have a "prioritized configuration"(LA...
This depends on the HUD and the sunglasses. It is variable. If it's important see the HUD and wear polarized lenses you can generally tilt your head a bit to read the HUD, or try a different brand of sunglasses
The difficulty in reading LCD screens and HUDs is one of the reasons that...
My daily driver for over seen years has been a Tesla model S, so I get your point, but remember there are non-trivial externalities to EVs as well. In our lifetimes there will almost certainly be tasks that chemically fueled vehicles do better (quick long distance travel, towing) simply because...
FWIW I just logged into my account at Rivian and my preorder has reverted to the pre March 1 pricing, with the exception that the tow hooks are now included.
As a data point, I preordered an R1S on October 6, 2019. When the configurator went live I passed on the Launch Edition because the Max...
I almost hate to post this, as Iām not super anal about these things, but here goes:
I agree with everybody that the striping is pretty bad, and Iād need that fixed.
But, is anybody else worried about the hood alignment? Is it unlatched? It looks to me like the bottom of the hood does...
I'd look at it this way:
If the floor -does- collapse under the weight of two Rivians, it won't drop too far and the Rivians will be able to climb back out in "Rock Crawling" mode. You could leave it like that and have a little adventure everytime you backed out of the garage.
Or--you could...
Nope, my 2019 order appears to be affected. Iām really unhappy about this.
I was a fairly early adopter of Tesla, long before the supercharger network was built out. I took a risk on them, and have been very happy with the car. Tesla, for the companyās faults, has always honored pricing at...
As a Tesla owner since 2015, I notice that the "Rivian corridor of sadness" includes much of what we called "The Great Supercarger Desert" centered more or less on the state of Arkansas. When I bought my car, there wasn't a supercharger within its range from my house. For a couple of years...
Same here.
My daily driver for 7 years has been a Model S 85D. Iāve driven it mostly between mid 30s and 90s with temperature making little difference in that range.
Part of that may be that the car is usually parked in a partly heated garage and doesnāt cold soak unless Iām at work or...
I'm very skeptical that range gains would approach 50 miles from switching to carbon rotors. That would be about 16% or so which is a -huge- number. 50 miles on the plaid is from a much higher baseline range, is the incremental gain is less significant. Also, the Tesla is vastly more...
