I periodically test the only local EA charger; intending to be a little familiar should I actually *need* to use one.
So far, using a credit/debit card has never worked without calling the number on the charger. However using the EA app with the same card referenced works fine if I start by...
* In my experience, yes; sort of. Sharing a Google trip to my Rivian not only shared the trip, but the alternate route shown in Google maps. Switching between the two routes however was very clunky.
Not sure which software version added this.
* Edited for clarity.
Someone that has received the latest OTA (today) claims Alexa/Amazon Music "actually worked". If I recall you have very specific requirements with regard to what that actually means.
Let us know what you think when you get the update.
An insightful post.
If Tesla really wanted to disrupt the momentum and consolidation of CCS they would seek to make a deal with Wal-Mart. Of course that is easy for someone on the internet to say. It takes two to haggle.
I've seen mention of Wal-Mart's announcement to put chargers in...
Maybe Ford is paying for exclusivity for a period of time as a competitive advantage against other late entries. Tesla charging would certainly be a key differentiator in the short time and likely in the long term.
There was a Honda Prelude in the late 1980's that had limited 4 wheel steer. I think other followed.
Aside from that, it seems doubtful that a company that removes 12v plug in the frunk to save $ believes this is something customers want to pay for.
The cost of engineering this into the rest...
Ford has struck a deal to have what customers see as a competitive advantage.
Would anyone be surprised if Ford paid Tesla a premium to have a unique privilege of this integration for a contracted for period of time?
As I read it the Silverado may not be such an advantage for towing. A payload of 1200 pounds? With a family of 4 (500lb min?) and a trailer with tongue weight of 600lb, you could carry another 100lb in the bed!
The new Tacoma has a 1700 lb payload as is I believe most R1Ts are.
It seems...
Yeah, but there *may* be a difference between the Rivian engineer/driver and Blake, who I understand holds the Pikes Peak record in a Tesla Model S.
Or not......but I'll be glad to see one in the running anyway!
My guide re-affirmed today that ordering a powered tonneau for a truck not built with one will not be possible as "it needs to be installed when the truck is made".
THAT is non-sense as we have a thread or two on the forum here where the user has taken their truck apart. Expensive? Likely. Not...
Because they didn't have a choice? Rivian began forcing people to remove the powered tonneau from trucks that had not yet been delivered and removed it from the configurator.
Some people are probably also attracted to a solution (manual) that would likely not leave them with a "stuck" tonneau.
