  1. Factory winch and sliders / rock rails spotted on this Rivian R1T?

Perhaps they (Rivian) simply called a tow service that was available in the area of the trail where the failure happened?
  2. $$$$ Georgia Plant Alternative!

Frank Klein came aboard Rivian in June of 2022. Based on his resume, I would assume his job is to apply his experience in operations, production, automation, etc. to scale production. I personally would assume that since he came aboard, he has given Rivian his best advice. And that his advice...
  3. What do you want addressed in the next OTA update?

Or interrupted. And perhaps when de-rated (user option?).
  4. Rivian names Alan Hoffman as Chief Policy Officer

It seems possible to me that this job might have a lot more to do with this than anything else. Or not....
  5. Finally, an EV with real performance - Lucid Sapphire

Demand and spec driven by Saudi investors?
  6. Manual Tonneau Cover Shipping Email

    A strange process........
  7. Rivian Magnetic Jack Pucks Kits *Original* Always In-Stock

A very good, versatile, jack base. No affiliation.
  8. Updated Powered Tonneau & Manual Tonneau Bed Covers Coming Mid-Summer! RJ Shows Off in First-Look Video

Perhaps since all the bed rail plastic etc. is replaced, there is hope for a retrofit of automatic for those people who were forced to remove the auto cover. Eventually.......
  9. Tesla Supercharger spotted with credit card reader

Doesn't contactless open the door for other devices (watches, etc.) besides credit cards? If so, does that circumvent the skimming problem people are concerned about?
  10. Aftermarket jack

For me the best jacking solution comes from a mix of vendors: Safejacks sells a kit that I have tested with the Gen 2 puck from Jackpucks.com. The puck from Jackpucks.com fits fine on the jack in the kit; which means the variety of extensions do as well. I also bought their universal baseplate...
  11. F150 Lightning gets nearly $10K in price cuts

Both companies have challenges, but those challenges are as different as the products. If I recall, Rivian's IPO stated they were looking at capturing perhaps 15% of the market over time. Contrast that with Ford, who I believe said production would be 150,000 this year. And that number has to...
  12. Are the ventilated seats wimpy or is it just my truck?

Since 2023.26.00 mine have been much more unpredictable. They used to be fantastic. But with this software release they don't work hardly at all when the vehicle is doing the weed-eater imitation. My understanding is that Rivian is aware of the air conditioner/compressor problem. I'm hoping my...
  13. Still dealing with insurance but ordered a new R1T

Well, this doesn't bode well......o_O To be fair, my nearest SC is almost 250 miles away. So there was every reason to believe this would be the case in the near term.
  14. HOT! "Fans running to protect displays" message

It could be worse. I wonder how many people are simply looking at the temp when opening the app? Not realizing that you have to wake it up to get a current reading.
  15. Update: 2023.26.00 (new features, improvements, and bug fixes)

I'm genuinely happy the current version of the software works as you describe - for you. It absolutely does not here. Selecting auto does not mitigate.

  17. Former Porsche NA CEO Kjell Gruner is joining Rivian

Seems unlikely that there was that much pressure.... From a CNBC article around the time of the IPO: "Rivian, which is based in Irvine, California, has two classes of stock. Scaringe owns just 1% of Class A shares, or those held by the broader investor base and available for trading. But he...
  18. HOT! "Fans running to protect displays" message

And you are right about Rivian getting most things right on the first try. Indeed, prior to 2023.22.00, both the seat cooling and "screen protection" that effectively kept the rest of the truck a *little* cooler, were great.
