This is a stupid question, but what happens in the scenario where the insurance does not total it, quotes a repair cost of I.e. $24k and the actual repair cost (as quoted by a shop) is I.e. $40k. Is the owner then on the hook to cover the difference themselves or is independent of the insurance...

lol… I wish I could ever get those insurance rates… In the NYC area the cheapest I could secure was 200/month with standard coverage (ie 100/300k with 1k deductible). That is despite clean record and credit score! When I lived in Chicago I could get 140/month for 250/500.

I'm certainly hopeful it'll be quick - but haven't seen many Max Pack deliveries yet and initial estimate said 1-6 weeks + pickup at Brooklyn Service Center, so who knows...
