  1. Automakers are starting to admit that drivers hate touchscreens. Buttons are back!

I have actually been pleasantly surprised the number of things you can control with Alexa In the Rivian. I am looking forward to when she can read and reply to a text.
  2. Garage Remote Limitations

I am still holding out hope for increased functionality with future updates. My Tesla could not be programmed for our neighborhood gate for several years, and it eventually became programmable and worked. The Rivian will not program the same gate. I called support after it failed as the screen...
  3. What Max Amperage to Consider for Home Charging? (40, 48, 80)

I have two chargers daisy chained on a 100amp line for both our EVs. It provides 50amps per charger and with that I am charging at 25 miles an hour, which is the max that I have seen anyone reporting able to get from a home charger.
  4. Show off your dashcam memory card install

That is awesome. I have searched everywhere I could think and could not find this. Thanks much.
  5. Show off your dashcam memory card install

Has anyone found a solution for a usbc splitter cable for the other port for one of the after market charging pads? I currently have both usbc ports occupied with plugs for the two MagSafe cables.
  6. AdventureMat - MagSafe Charging Pad

Just upgraded to stealth. I love the improvements in how the puck locks in, and as well as appearing OEM. Great iterative improvement. Thanks.
  7. OBD-II port is an easy option for dashcam power

I am not sure how much power the camera draws. I looked on the Ring website and could not find specific numbers. It does have three different power settings. I had it set to the most conservative and a short while after parking it sent me a notification it was going to power down to decrease...
  8. OBD-II port is an easy option for dashcam power

You can use the 12 volt. I thought it was cleaner to leave that open and use the unused OBD port. Just trying to let anyone interested know it works as there was speculation that the OBD port would not supply 12 volt power.
  9. OBD-II port is an easy option for dashcam power

I can confirm the OBD-II port which is to the left above the brake pedal works for power. I know that we don't have all the pins, but we do have three pins, including the pin that is connected to the 12V battery. Traveling I wanted a functional dashcam when on the road until Rivan's promised OEM...
  10. Used R1T just sold at lowest auction price so far on Cars and Bids

Did that with a Tacoma that I drove for two years.
  11. IIHS Updated Crash Test Rating of Rivian R1T (w/ Video)

Weird I drove two hours to my nearest service center for a CV joint issue in my R1T last week, and they did not take care of this. My vehicle was a May 22 production. I wouldn't think it would be only certain vehicles.
  12. Pedestrian Warning IN DRIVE? Wait...what?

I commented to NHTSA when the rule was still taking feedback prior to implementation. I suggested that since many vehicles could recognize nearby pedestrians, why not have them only make noise when pedestrians were nearby so as to not cause further noise pollution? I actually got called by a...
  13. 12 volt frunk power outlet is back! > in my just-delivered 2023 R1T (mid 18000 VIN)

That's so weird. I wonder what the real story is with the period of one magnet and 12v delete.
  14. Let’s talk tunes -- How do you listen to music in your Rivian?

I think the Meridian sound system in the Rivian is great I am trying Tidal right now, as I was able to find a $2 for several months trial online. I am not sold on it. If you have playlists on other music services, you can pull much of it into a Tidal playlist. I found that maybe 50% of what...
  15. I need community help on color choice?Update: El Cap for the win

I was between blue and white. I really like the clean look of the white, especially from the front. I considered El Cap as an outlier, feeling like it accentuates the lines give the R1T a stronger look. What finally sold me on it, was it was the one color my wife really liked during our test...
  16. Best Floor Jack?

Me, I would rather do it myself. I don't know where others live. Every time I go to my local tire store, I am there for hours. It is really the pits. I figure once I get a spare it will be pretty easy to rotate the tires every 5k.
  17. Any recommendations for 12V cooler for frunk?

Thanks for this thread, I just put my order in. The Iceco Go 20 still looks like the best option. Are there any usage tips those of you who have been using can share?
  18. Just test drove R1S, interior trim quality/ passenger room

Coming from multiple Teslas, (P85D, P100D, 2 Model 3 Performances, and a X), Multiple BMWs (550, 330, M3s, X5s), Multiple Audis (A6, RS4s), Mercedes (C63) and Porsche (911) I have been pleasantly surprised by the fit and finish and design and combination of materials on the Rivians. Granted, I...
  19. Amazed at lack of vampiric range loss

I took delivery of my R1T approximately three weeks ago and dropped it off, and have full PPF and tint installed 5 days ago. I was slightly concerned as the vehicle was approx at the 50% mark when I dropped it off, as they were estimating that it could take up to a full 7 business days to...
  20. Why no spare tires in Gear Shop?

I have been waiting to order a spare wheel/tire combo since taking delivery being my R1T did not come with one. What is the reason that you think that it is taking so long for them to offer them in the gear store, particularly since they already offer the full set? It would seem like...
