Anyone else seeing increased daily kWh usage while parked since after the .46 update? Before my R1T, 2023 Quad would only use .3 per 24 hour period while parked.
Parking in garage, Gear Guard off, Auto Unlock off. Phone or FOBs not left nearby. No behavior change really.

I was about to post a thread...

Twice now I've gone someplace and parked for 1 hour and it's consumed 4 kWh of energy while parked! Have not had this problem before. At home it does not consume much while parked.

I was about to blame the new phone as key feature. I've never used it before because it was unreliable but have since the .46 update and now I'm seeing large losses parked away from home.

Just did a small experiment. Drove the truck to a nearby park. Left it there for 1 hour with the "remote entry" off. Went back and found it consumed 0.3 kwh vs 4.5 kWh the previous two times I parked it for one hour away from home.

I've been a long time critic of the phone as key feature. With the .46 update I thought it was now a useful feature. Now I'm back to I'll just use the FOB. It's a triviality to carry and use it compared to the constant aggravation of phone as key.

4.5 kWh of usage while parked for 1 hour. Display says it is not climate controls. Gear guard was off.

With remote entry off, 0.3 kWh in one hour.

Damn I hope this isn't a permanent problem. I love the new digital key.

I have not noticed increased drain but I will pay more attention the next time I am parked for an hour or more.

I've noticed that many times I walk out to the garage, and the lights are on, on my truck. I have also noticed that when going to a store, for not very long, when I come back, Gary''s sweating and it is says High usuage, even though it's been parked. Also noticed my range is way down since the last couple of updates. I know it's been colder, but the usuage usually drops to 1.8 or more, but now it's usually around 1.5 or sometimes even less on the new dashboard

If you were using only 0.3 kWh daily, then you have a somewhat unusual vehicle, I think. My Gen 1 2023 R1T Quad has pretty consistently been at 1% daily (about 1.3 kWh) all along. In any case, FWIW, I haven't observed a change since the most recent update.

Just checked stats on my 25 R1S max/perf. Been plugged in at home for last two days. Have walked past it multiple times with phone and have opened doors to get something. Gear guard is on, Auto Unlock on, connected to wifi.

1.1 the last 24 hours. I’m noticing a lot more WiFi usage which may explain it. Not sure what exactly is being downloaded since I was updated to .46 on Tuesday 12/23.

What were you seeing before the update? 1-2% daily loss has almost always been normal for me, it's gone up and down. 2023 Gen 1.

Cause and effect is not clear but I got the Replace 12V Battery Now message this morning. Have an appointment for Friday.

As noted above, I was seeing 4.5 kWh of vampire drain while parked for just one hour when I had the Proximity/Remote entry phone as key enable while using .46 software. Saw that multiple times. Turned the proximity off and saw no vampire drain. Not clear if the 12V battery failure is because of that or the other way around. But regardless, I'm soooo done with the phone as key/proximity detect hassles. I'll continue to use the FOB and not look back.

I've been avoiding the .46 update because I finally had my vampire drain down very close to zero, but had seen others have the VD increasing...

So am I to understand that if I update to .46, but turn the proximity setting off, I can expect the VD to stay as it is, very low?

Thanks all!

I feel like my kWh usage is all related to WiFi. I am unsure why a 10gb download in 1 day, post .46 update on a Gen 1 is for? Maybe Gen 1 is downloading the UHF data unnecessarily?

Just prior to this screen shot I “Paused” the Rivian on my home network to see what the drain is in the next 24 hours.
