12v Battery Replacement covered by warranty?

Did anyone else receive a phone call from Rivian needing to schedule a 12V battery replacement? I have an R1S and received it August of 2023. When I called back to schedule the replacement, she couldn't tell me if this would be covered by warranty or not. She said they are just being "pro active" but I don't want to get to the Denver service center and be handed a huge bill. She could not promise me that either.

As long as you’re within your warranty period you should not be charged. Other members had their batteries replaced and I believe they were replaced under warranty. I’m sure you’ll get some responses about this.

2023 R1T QM w/20” A/T’s
My R1T was delivered in September 2023. I had no issues with the 12v, but called the SC just to check. They did a quick bit of research and determined it qualified for a new 12v. It was done at my house and there was no charge.

They called me last week telling me I needed the hub bolts torqued.

So yesterday they torqued the hub to knuckle bolts and replaced the 12V, and yes, covered under warranty.

They should send you an authorization to sign that shows it's free before you get there (sent to me the day before), if the total isn't zero don't sign...

R1T gen 1s have 2 12 volts… both covered under warranty… starting w gen 1.5… yes there is a 1.5, they have 1 12 volts as do the gen 2s… my 2 were replaced no charge… I suspect an update fried them, but only a hypothesis.

Yes I recieved a call. But mine is Gen 2 R1T tri motor. So it's under warranty. I had a mobile service. This 12v battery is under passenger seat. Need to remove seat and all those wires and all. I asked him how much it will cost me after the warranty is over. He said around 500.

It's standard. If you are under 3 years/36k miles it is under warranty.
Interesting—36094 miles/2 years 6 months…… app & truck displayed the dreaded 12v battery needed service today. I phoned for service & soonest is 28 March.

That would be nice, but It would not follow what they have done in the past. The truck is parked with the level 1 portable charger plugged in to hold 70% SOC while I wait. Not about to drive it & have it brick out os cell coverage & strand me. It will end up a 33 day wait for new 12V batteries. {Gen 1. Aug 22 delivery}
