better accomplished with a steering wheel vibration pattern distinct from the lane keep one. it’s just so loud and unnecessary.
I disagree my EV6 makes no noise when you are centered in the new lane. I have to divert my attention to the dash to see if it’s engaged. My T has made many warnings without waking my granddaughter. I prefer a beep to a steering vibration. Isn’t there a beep when you initially engage +? But I haven’t even been notified to install the update yet, and I can’t wait.

I didn't say that we shouldn't have any indication that it has re-enabled after lane change is complete. I just don't think the current implementation of "loud sound" makes a lot of sense. this is really only for the driver. Make it a steering wheel vibration pattern. No need for the thing to keep dinging throughout the car every time you change lanes. Gets old on a road trip.

Does your EV6 give any indication at all that it has re-engaged? It's hard to tell from your replies what's actually happening.

None I have to look at the display. Which I prefer not to. I assume you want the initial + engagement to be vibration also. To keep from waking your kids. I relate vibration to a warning about running off the road or inadvertently crossing a lane line while not paying attention.

Haptic feedback is everywhere in our digital lives. I would love to have the option of something less intrusive but i agree that you need to have feedback other than visualization. Looking back at the dash to confirm that is not ideal.

Got to have something that keeps your eye on the road as much as possible. Maybe my hearing is bad but my beep isn’t loud.

I think It needs to beep so you know it has reengaged without looking at the screen.
I understand this is the intention, but its not a requirement. My wife's VW doesnt make any sounds when you engage or change lanes, etc. Of course it also doesn't make any sounds when it randomly disengages going around curves either, so maybe not the best example.

I feel like disengaging is the only time I really would want a sound.

The careening or oversteer towards median- was this due to you looking at the screen vs. road?
And holding a phone in their hand filming...

?

Neither actually. I had full control of the vehicle and attention of the road, and I wasn't paying attention to what my phone was recording at all.

The careening was from an expectation that Driver+ would pull me into the middle of the new lane. It was at that precise moment that I learned that if you're moving too quickly from side to side, Driver+ would not center you. You must end your maneuver centered in the lane with your trajectory staying in the middle of the lane.

In other words, Driver+ doesn't "grab" the steering wheel simply because your vehicle has touched the middle of the lane.

My first, and only, experience with the new lane change feature was wholly unacceptable. I have been using the driver+ in the morning commute 5 to 30 mph traffic while grinding up my crew on conference calls. Really handy!
This evening, there was heavy traffic so I set the cruise and called my brother to brag about my super cool truck. Everyone was moving to the next lane to the right since there was police activity in the left lane a mile or so ahead. Yes! Lane change reactivation! Signal, merge, center, reactivate, begin accelerating into back of pickup a couple hundred feet in front me! Hard brake to avoid collision. Wtaf? Won't be using that feature near other cars any more.

Mine worked great tonight in heavy traffic. Not sure what went wrong with yours. I love the new feature.
