How do you know if your fob has been updated?

I don't see a FW version anywhere for the FOB.
Mine told me there was an update for fob but didn’t have it on me…I got home and brought out fob and update disappeared, so system detected it was already up to date? Maybe this was just for people that had issue updating last update.

I'm going on a weekend trip in the morning and still no update. I want it tonight! Is there anything I need to do (or not do) to get it faster? I'm connected to wifi and plugged in to charger.

Also, I'm checking in the app and in the update section of the dash frequently and says I'm up-to-date on the last version.

I haven't tried it myself, but I've been told that if crawl into the gear tunnel and recite the entirety of The Aneid (in Latin), by the time you get to the end the update will show up.

I haven't received notification of the update, either. It doesn't bother me because there's nothing in the update that I need (or even particularly "want") just a few "nice to have's". I'll just wait until the update gets pushed to the truck and do the update at night when I don't need to use it.

Maybe they're reading your posts and punishing you. (I got mine today and installed it).

It is actually is a little spooky how much "attention" is paid...here's an example:

I've driven past the same HOV lane entrance dozens of times since mid-November without getting on. (No preferential treatment for EVs in HOV lanes in Texas). About 4 of these trips have been when a destination had been entered and I was getting directions.

Never once did it direct me to the left lane to enter the HOV lane...until now. Last weekend (for the first time) I used the HOV lane (because I had a passenger) and it happened to be while I was en route to a programmed destination.

Today (only incidentally post-OTA update), I took the same route. I had no passenger. The routing told me to get into the HOV lane. I didn't.

On the return trip (on the same route in which I had NEVER had a passenger or used the HOV lane), it directed me to "Keep right to stay on I-10 West" ... never any mention of the HOV lane.

Clearly they didn't "overthink this" (which would have been fairly spooky), by having the algorithm determine that there was no other passenger in the car and that we were in Texas...and thereby avoid telling me to enter a HOV lane that I wasn't eligible to use. :D
I don't think the R1T nav does any adaptive learning of routes. At least not yet. The R1T nav always suggests one of two routes to my office, and I always go a different way. 10 Months into ownership and it still hasn't figured out to start with that route. I don't know why, either... It's actually shorter distance, less time, and I arrive with more range remaining than the two routes it tries to suggest.

Well...it's doing something adaptive (or at least predictive). I drove regularly (twice a week) on the same route to and from my eye doctor (for about 6 weeks). Just for the heck of it, I would route it on the Rivian (mostly to compare times, as those varied with traffic flow).

Randomly one day, it told me to exit at a really weird spot a couple of miles back from my normal interchange exit to a different road. This was not the route originally displayed. I thought "What the hell, why not?" and got off. As soon as I did, both the road and the access road went over a low rise...and the traffic on the main road was at a complete stop. Two quick traffic lights later, I re-entered the main road ahead of about a mile and a half of stopped cars. I was impressed.

I read all the time about people saying how crappy the nav system is. I haven't seen that. It has appropriately taken me to small random bypass loops (that I already knew about) and I've found both the timing and ending range estimate to be very accurate (these are trips of 30 to 125 miles).

If I plot the start and finish and get off en route somewhere for a quick errand just off the main route, it directs me back onto the original route very precisely and appropriately (including circuitous paths through shopping center parking lots).

It does seem to take an inordinately long time to originally figure out a relatively simple route (like 32 miles ...get on interstate once, get off once), but the adjustments along the way are really fast.

I am not being "zealous fanboi" here...I just haven't experienced a lot of what some people bitch about continuously.

The update notes indicate a re-jiggering of the front camera. Ever since installing the SnapPlate front license plate holder (these plates are required in Texas), I have had what might best be described as a giant black "snowplow" blade in front of the Rivian (in the overhead view). It actually obscures objects that I haven't (quite) run over yet with the front bumper. This did not get better with the update.

To be fair, this was mentioned in the install instructions/video from SnapPlate...who also said that the same thing happens to some degree with the factory front plate holder.

Not a huge concern...just more in the category of "it would be nice if..."

OK, actually read through all 7 pages. My highest excitement for this update is the passive key fob. I see many saying they're trying to update their fobs. Has anyone actually been able to see if the key fob now automatically locks / unlocks the door based on proximity without having to push the buttons??

Like others, my truck just showed update available. I have to leave in 30 minutes so have to wait to install it. No notification on my phone that an update is available.

I updated my R1T about 24 hours ago and spent today trying out the proximity lock/unlock with the key fob as I drove around town. I don't use PaaK at all, so I can't compare to that, but for me the key fob proximity unlocking just works. And the locking just works. I'm happy with this improvement.

I’ve never carried the fob. My phone works fine but is slow to unlock. Is the fob paak faster?
