I had a weird bug with the app after the .35 update. I went to try out the Gear Guard Live camera and it didn't show up in the app. I checked the truck and made sure I had Live Cam enabled. I checked to make sure I was on version 2.14 on the app, including force closing the app and restarting the phone. I finally got it to work after uninstalling the app from my phone and then reinstalling the app. I had to re-pair the phone with the truck afterwards, but after about 20 minutes everything is up and running again. Anyone else have a weird issue like that?

Apple music started not working at all, would just spin. New update didn't fix
it by itself so had to sign out and do an infotainment reset. Seems to be working
now finally. These weird glitches are starting to add up to a frustrating experience...

Enjoying the update. Best part is it fixed the map screen not loading for the last week. Thought I was going to have my first service visit in 2 years between the 2. Hoping the software push would fix and it did. I had called the line but they were unable to do anything for it online.

Are you using an android phone? I feel like this will happen to me also (update is being applied right now) since the 2.14 update on the app does not show gear guard live vs. when iOS users downloaded it before the 35 update they still saw the guard guard live on their phone app

Dear Rivian,

Please stop with the silly "drive mode animation" updates every update. It sounds like there's a very vocal PM who owns that content and keeps pushing for his/her team on the relevant importance. The old real-time animations were much better than these silly line drawings.

I realize that software development teams are a finite resource and I'd like to suggest that people stop working on these silly features and work on things that people actually care about. Here's a few suggestions to get you started:
  1. Since Connect+ is a paid service, please fix the bugginess in Apple Music. This is the absolute worst implementation of anything I've ever seen with Apple's in it. Please begin with music stopping and starting on demand and not requiring a software reset 3x weekly just to listen to music. While you're at it, where's XM music?
  2. implement the ability to choose between different OWM wheel sizes in the GUI without requiring a $150 visit to your already over-stressed service centers. You have two basic wheel circumferences in production, so this equates to an either/or. Use case: it'd be nice to take off my OEM 20" ATs in the winter and run dedicated snow tires in a slightly smaller wheel size that don't cost $450, while also allowing me to put chains on the truck.
  3. Reduce Vampire drain on Gen1 vehicles. These things chew through about 1 kWh/day in wasted energy. That's almost three full charge cycles (over 700 miles of driving energy) per year for nothing...not very earth friendly.
  4. Fix more SW bugs. It seems that every update introduces more bugs that weren't there before.

Yeah, someone there has a real hard-on for animations. lol. We don’t GAFuudge…fix the bugs! That being said, everything works great so far with this update…?

I just took delivery on 9/25, the date of release, but it's running 2024.31.30. I haven't received the update to install yet. What's the typical time frame to roll out updates to all vehicles?

2-3 weeks.

The garage opening icon not appearing seems to have been fixed. The USB-C ports in the center console seems to have been addressed as well. Drive cam seems to be working now as a result of that.

Apple Music still does not want to work. It continues to state that there’s no internet when there is LTE bars. I did an infotainment reset which did not fix the issue. I then proceeded with a computer reset which did not fix the issue either. I guess I’ll continue to use Bluetooth connection for audio.

Applied the 35.0 last night and completed fine when I checked this morning. Live cam on my Samsung phone works fine. Will reboot the software before I go this morning which I do after each update. I'll check out the items later this morning that people have been reporting issues with this update.

My first reaction was there’s an issue with your battery, but unless your vehicle is really pointing exactly due north (0 degrees), and your battery is exactly 32° F (0° C), and your elevation is really (null) feet I think you need a reset or at least call Rivian for advice.

I don't know what it means but would guess it has something to do with the temp of your battery pack. Another observation, probably about as unhelpful as the foregoing, is that your motors are warm, while the battery pack is cold, something that to my decidedly non-technical eye seems odd. Also, how is it possible to be at 32F in NC at low elevation in mid-September?

A call to Rivian Service is certainly in order!
