Honestly don't really care for the Halloween themes, just poking fun here. I've used them for all of 5 minutes and then never thought of them again I'd rather they focus on more usable features.

After seeing the teaser, Gen 1 R1's will definitely be missing out on the multi-color light show, not because the Gen1's aren't awesome, but because the RGB lightbar wasn't on the radar when the R1's were conceived.
Maybe Rivian is trying to get people to ask for a retrofit kit for the new lights like they are for the NACS port /s

Maybe, just maybe they are just trying to make people smile for 2 seconds. Why does everyone need to parse this out? How about just smelling the roses before everyone gets back to their sniping? Jeez, take a deep breath for eff sake!

As long as we are at it, I would like to file an official complaint about the giant orange ball of fire in the sky. It hurts my eyes when I look at it and I prefer living in darkness.

Why do people always poo poo all the threads on this site with whining? You can literally find 250 other threads where you can discuss your displeasure with RJ regarding the lack of the camp kitchen, tank turn, and how Driver + isn't as good as my 2002 RAV 4... etc.
Those people think that fun additions like this are mutually exclusive with whatever they want (better stability, new streaming services, D+ improvements, faster charging speed, etc.) and in almost all cases they are not.

A dozen years ago I was on a project to standardize how the organization built and deployed new computers. We had a graphic designer on the team, and he had otherwise finished what he needed to do, so he asked if he could do a graphical overlay for the build, just for looks. He was a talented guy, so what he did looked great and made a lot of people smile. Along with that. we also had a couple of teething issues on the build completely unrelated to the graphics, but people of influence saw the overlay and figured we had misprioritized things, and it led to a lot of unnecessary heartburn. Knowing how these things are, I never bother to comment in these types of threads about how Apple Music still sucks (but it does still suck).

I like the Halloween modes. They are fun. They are unique to Rivian and a conversation starter. I use it while sitting in my driveway handing out candy to kids (and airplane bottles to the parents 😁)

functionally it’s pointless. But why does everything have to be about function. It’s cool.

Exactly. I was in automotive cybersecurity for a few years and in general IT for 20+. And I presume it is the same in any industry.

Do people think the folks working on level 4 autonomous driving are the same folks that are deciding what color stitching or what cute Gary images will be shown on the next release? C'mon guys. They might not even be in the same office, or building, or even country!

Boy, that sunset sure is beautful!
Well, I’ve seen better
Wow, the leaves sure look great this year
Well, last year they were better
Wow! It's awesome making first tracks in powder!
Well, I hate to get up early and it’s cold
Man that guy put a lot of effort into his Christmas lights!
Well, you should have seen mine 35 years ago.
Holy Cow! That Cow is big!
Well, i like goats…

ad infinitum…

Yes, but us early adopters will always be cooler than the Gen2 trend followers
Where do I fit in? Had my G1 configured for months but procrastinated until forced to get a G2 or lose my pre-price hike savings.

I am generally not impressed with the Halloween stuff; not as much as my kid is impressed. I did, however, order a truck that was supposed to have a canoe rack, a kitchen, a winch, and self-driving capabilities. I hear all of RJ's acknowledgments that some stuff needed to be left behind. I do recall accepting delivery of a vehicle without those features. So, I'll admit there are times when I am frustrated. All that said, I just added five new scratches and dented my side panel while driving silently deep in the woods of Vermont this past fall and that is ultimately what I paid for.
You are not supposed to be impressed. It's sole purpose is light-hearted fun and entertainment.

The Knight Rider last year was so cool (perhaps I'm just really sad)
