Side Awnings for for roof mounted cargo bars?

I'm hoping the aluminum housing will incur less of an aero penalty while driving than one that uses a vinyl bag. Unfortunately they are back-ordered and was told to expect another 2 weeks.

I've got a 270 degree awning from Overland Systems on my R1T. Worked out well for when we went camping, but in order to make it work, I had to come up with my own towers for the part of it that's over the bed. The height is good for me at 5'10" with the truck in "lowest", but if you're over 6' tall, you'd have to have the suspension in a higher mode.
