2027 R1T

It would make sense for them to pivot to the same LG 4695 and enjoy economy of scale savings. But, can LG’s new US plant deliver the volume?

I imagine that would require some serious re-engineering of the the pack..... and thus the whole underside of the vehicle.

No news yet.. it is august.. the incentives aren't better either - so 2027 is not anything meaningful?

Here is what I learned about the 2027 R1 from a Rivian salesperson was truly honest with me in guiding my decision - told him I am undecided about buying a used 2025/2026 R1T or a new 2026 R1T with some incentives, or waiting for the 2027, learn about the differences, and then maybe buy a 2026 R1T with steeper incentives.

He said, everything is under tight wraps, no one knows what 2027 is, but it will be here in a couple of weeks, maybe mid-August. He also said there may be more updates to R1S versus R1T.Speculated that the halo wheel may make it and changes will be minor/under the hood.
incentives and selection of 2026 R1T/R1S may come down if you wanted to wait. but may be worth it in my case.

I had low expectations for 2027 R1T and they managed to do nothing….amd just call it 2027… great

I don't blame Rivian for not offering the captains chairs for the R1T

Agreed, for the truck they don't make sense. But I am sure there is something veteran R1T owners would have wanted to get. Maybe.

What did you expect? More people buy the R1S and soon R2 sales will exceed everything else. Any business worth their salt would deprioritize less popular products.

Test fitted a R1T around my tight driveway around a redwood tree and into my tight garage.. few observations

fit for me:
-it is much bigger than I thought but not bad.., for my use case it would be better to have a maverick sized truck, may be R2T can be made and would a better fit.. narrower and smaller cabin will be ok for me
-but given I am not going to be truck person - software defined EV with solid tonneau cover may tilt my decision still.. knowing very well I will not like what ford comes with

General comments:
- at this size, it should have rear wheel steer - I know different class but my Porsche cayenne with rear wheel

I hope they make a R2T

I would have liked 2027 R1T to have had new trim options.

I wish the “adventure” interior was available with quads and tris.
