I'll be waiting for an Rx with steer by wire, 4 wheel steering, 800V w/fast DC charging, V2H, L4, and at least 150 mph top speed.

Are you listening, RJ?
You forgot the part about it being able to float and traverse deep water like a boat.

Too much on the boat and it won't float.

Leasing Model 3 until R3X comes out, but now I have an R2 reservation as well.

All of that will go to their more expensive R1 line first.

There's zero chance the top speed would increase.
I didn’t catch that. I was looking more at steer-by-wire, electrical architecture, etc. No one really needs to exceed the speed limit by that much, unless they’re on a track or something.

Nobody needs 1025 HP either. 150 mph was just a figure of speech, but 110 mph for 1025 HP?

Yeah, I think the automakers are finally catching on that it’s the range and affordability that EV buyers are looking for, not the HP, torque, or 0-60 times (those seem like bonuses based on the nature of electric drivetrains). Infrastructure makes a huge difference, too, because the person that needs a more affordable EV is more than likely the person that isn’t able to charge at home. People who live in apartments and condos, or older homes that don’t have electricity in their garages, etc. We’re getting there, albeit slowly.

Is there any expected Rivian "Rx" vehicle about the size of the Ford Lightning or the Cybertruck?

In fact, following some announcements of other Heavy Duty trucks, any Rivian EREV possible?
Absolutely no chance of any of these for Rivian.

Just wondering what was the meaning of this posting:

I'll be waiting for an Rx with " 4 wheel steering " ?
You don't know what four wheel steering is? Like on the Hummer BEV? Or the Cybertruck?

Thank you for your reply. I was just wondering if @windblowlc was sarcastic or if there have been any talk about Rivian projects of making Heavy Duty trucks, thus the four wheel steering mention.

There is also a possibility for Rivian of implementing rear-wheel steering (RWS) and steer-by-wire (SBW) technology to enhance the maneuverability of their current and future large vehicles, such as the R1T pickup and R1S SUV.

Note: Steer-by-wire could potentially lower production costs through fewer components, despite high initial R&D costs, and could be offered in R1 or R2 refresh or other future autonomous vehicles.

2027 R2 vs. Tesla Model Y Lineup:
There's also a financing advantage for Tesla right now. Tesla has 0% to 0.99% for most trims except the Performance model.

Could change in a year when Rivian has fully ramped in 2027. Even pricing could change by then.
