Just got my tires rotated at 15k and the guy at Discount tire told me I have 40% tread left :/. Gonna try to get another 5k miles out of them and then probably go with "Michelin - Defender LTX M/S2" (115 load index).

I was hoping to get these 285/55/22 Yokohama Geolandar A/T G015, get a little extra cushion and handling but speed rating on these is like 106, less then the stock and Michelin 130. And I haven't seen anyone mention that they have done this with their 22s.

Note: Discount tire now charges for Tire rotation if you didn't buy the tires from them. With that they balance them for you too. $80 in Dallas.

Get the 115 Defender, not the LT version. It's more the 10 pounds lighter and will serve you well. I've put over 200K miles on this tire over the years, about 65-70K on each set.

You could also get the new MS tire from Pirelli that's now the OEM tire. It seems to be providing a noticeable efficiency gain. But, back to back testing would be required to know.... hint hint. ;)

285/55/22 will most likely rub but don’t think anyone has tried it. It’s a 34.7” tire. 285/50/22 will fit and there are a few options. I’ve found the 275/50/22 Continental Terraincontact AT to be a great balance of on road and off road performance. The HT is a better option for street only.

Yep, I've been loving the Terrain Contact HT on my R1S!

I'll probably go with the Terrain Contact HT since everyone here with 22s is raving about them. Plus they are slightly cheaper than the Michelin. I prefer less road noise and my form of off-roading is driving over a curb to squeeze by traffic.

I just swapped out for the Continental Terrain Contact H/T yesterday. It might just be that new tire feel, but so far I am liking them much more than the Pirellis. I feel like I got a fairly decent price on them and Discount Tire did a great job swapping them out.

I reset a trip meter after getting them installed in hopes that I can get some fairly accurate efficiency information over time. Not much to speak of so far as I've only got about 20 miles on the new tires.

That's pretty close to the size of 275/65/20, so I don't think it would rub.
