The problem is, Rivian hasnt made the calibration settings and glass available to companies like Safelite. Without the calibration settings, satellite won't touch it.

The sensors do not have to be calibrated if they are not disturbed. Safelite just sells recalibration on top of the windshield replacement to take more of your money.

Find a repitable PPG or Pilkington installer. They'll know what to do.

A rivian certified repair shop I talked to about windshield replacement (and claim they have done 3 in Sept) said the windshield itself comes from Rivian with camera equipment etc attached and that that stuff is replaced with the glass, so calibration is likely required always in that case.

No way that's true. The glass alone would be $3,800 if it included the camera or sensors. I'll have them send me a 3rd party and OEM parts inventory to verify.

Yes, the Safelite website claims to offer Rivian windshield replacement, provides a quote, and lets you schedule an appointment. However I tried this route last month and found a dead end. The day after scheduling I got the following email from a Safelite care representative:

" I am emailing to apologize for the inconvenience, currently parts for your vehicle are only available through a Rivian Service Center. Please contact Rivian at 855-748-4265, they will assist you in locating parts and a provider to replace your glass. "

OK update talked to service again and now they are quoting $1850, so in line with others.

I had a rock hit my windshield on the freeway and unfortunately it is beyond repair and will need replacement.

Today the service line quoted me $3800 to replace it at the service center - $2000 for the part + labor.

this sounds like 2x what others on here have paid- any ideas if things have changed, or is the rep misinformed?

got quoted 2500 from a body shop, and a different phone rep has the same price you paid via the service center.
