Adding any badging that does not currently come on the vehicle is just lame in my opinion. It reminds me when I was in elementary school when I took the Huffy stickers off my bike and I put on Redline stickers. I’m not going back to those days!!!! I use to own a SL55 AMG and also a CLS55 AMG. I see SL500’s all the time with AMG badging and it’s just so lame to me.

This is like putting an M badge on a 330i

1st gen quads never got a badge. It’s not upbadging to badge a quad as a quad.

Also 2nd gen quads never is a weird mute blue accent. So by being yellow, it’s pretty clear it’s a 1st gen quad.

Your examples are all people upbadging or claiming it is something other than reality. Calling a Gen 1 Quad a Gen 1 Quad is not the same thing.

I currently have all black abstract ocean badging on my car that didn’t originally come with it.

I got a free sticker with that image, I put it on a thin magnet tape I had, and it hung on the rear fender for a while.

You can just print that on sticker/magnet stock to make another.

It's straight off the Rivian Quad website, have at it! Might be able to get a higher def image.

Without a formal licensing agreement, which I don't believe Rivian offers, if Rivian finds out you might get a cease and desist.

I outlined my experience. Similar to OP, I initially set out to do it for me, but when enough people started offering me compensation for their own, I gave in to spread the Yeti Joy. It was VERY short lived.

Not only was I expressly told not to distribute these, I was also told *VERY* specifically not to distribute the 3d print files or any other trade dress associated with Rivian trademark, and in this case, copyright material. I did ask if Rivian offered licensing for me to continue making them, and that request was straight up ignored.

The people still peddling other Rivian-adjacent things and ignoring the C&Ds are likely overseas sellers.

I’ve seen firsthand how aggressively Rivian’s IP lawyers respond to anything that even slightly resembles an infringement on their property.

Nope. The dozens of existing things I can buy or download mean that this hasn't happened to all of them. Of course, you might say "yet" which is always a true statement. I've downloaded every Rivian thing I can find, and if they get removed, I'll just post them and ignore the letters.
