3rd row seat flap

Not sure what this thing is called, but the flap that covers the seat gap when you put the third row seats down is broken in my R1S. It’s pretty annoying…when you fold the seat back upright the flap gets stuck on the back/bottom of the seat and essentially gets crunched into the seat back. Anyone else have this problem?

The flap has never gotten snagged when I have raised or lowered the 3rd row. But I have seen it misbehave when my kids (6YO,7YO) are messing with the seats.

I am not sure what they do differently to cause the problems, but it must be at least partially user-related since it has never happened when am doing it and I do it way more often than they do.

The springs on mine broke off. Looks to be a plastic welded part that's the weak link and it breaks off and it and spring fall into the void. I'd blame our toddler but I'd rather put the blame on Rivian.

Just call for mobile service to repair.

Take a picture of the flap down and up without the seat being up to show where the spring is and include it in the service request in the app. Also ask for mobile service (it will force you to pick a service date at the SC so just pick one but Rivian will call you to schedule the mobile service).

I requested service…we’ll see what they do about it. Hopefully will add it to my existing tire rotation visit in a few weeks.

I also am experiencing a similar issue and added the item to the next service appt. Just folded the seats down and then brought the seats back up with normal force and something broke. Found this in the gap underneath the springs
