$500 Tonneau cover

I just picked up an RIT with the belief that the new $500 factory installed motorized tonneau was a bargain and worth picking the DM Performance over the quad. But I picked up the car and Saturday and the button on the tailgate was missing and it did not show up on the screen but I can see a rubber gasket that looks like the cover might be installed but not controls. Possible? I have a service request in but disappoint for me and also for Rivian that the tonneau cover is still plaguing the overall experience. Does anyone else have a similar experience?

Other members here reporting the same on new deliveries… “to be installed at a (undetermined) later time”. Sucks, but you are not alone. Yeah… poor process and Customer communication.

The description in the shop tells you that it may not be delivered with the PTC. Read the fine print below the "Check out" button when you select a configuration from the shop.

The PTC parts have a limited supply right now.

As far as the experience no. But your post is making me question the possibility that maybe the cover is intact but not active. I thought about taking a peek under the cover area but concerned that I may not be able to put everything back together. I saw somewhere on here where someone took it apart to get their original cover fixed.

Miss the small print on the web site or during the purchasing process? It would've said something like this:

This vehicle is configured with a powered tonneau cover. In some cases, your vehicle may be delivered without the cover, Rivian service will reach out to you by fall of 2024 to schedule your installation.

Nicer than Ford. Through the entire history of Bronco Sport deliveries they simply delivered with missing parts. In some cases a small credit on the window sticker.

Push the button and see if the tailgate drops. That is what mine does. I have the manual Tonneau cover but I have that button and it only drops the tailgate.

I also bought a truck with the power tonneau cover for 500 dollars. Mine never came with it. At first the service center said I didn't order one. I had to argue and show them my purchase history.. anddddd the sticker on the truck showed that I had the tonneau cover as well. Then the service basically said they'll contact me whenever they're ready to install.. but gave me no date or anything. The thing that pisses me off is that I confirmed with my guide that it was installed and he said yes. Because I changed my order to get this. Ended up paying more for a more expensive color that had the cover. Sigh.. super pissed off at Rivian for this.
