I’m definitely not superstitious!

Yesterday, I noticed that my 12/2002 R1T had just reached 80,000 miles! I do drive it a lot :)

But contrary to the usual web chatter, this truck has been amazingly reliable. A brake fluid change at 75K along with a wheel alignement due to Poughkeepsie Creek in CO ;) and that’s it for repairs.

Range is down a couple percent fron day one. Ask me what the HP and torque was after 80,000 miles on my 2003 M3 when I had it! Most of the charging via home L2 charger - thousands of miles of L3 charging on many trips as far as Texas and Colorado from my SoCal home.

My truck bed top did need replacing but that was partly my fault !

Tires? Original 21 Pirellis lasted 35K then I bought 20 inch offroad wheels and BFG KO2s that I’m still using and then 21 inch Michelin LTXs which are still good. Most of the miles were highway with a sprinkling of offroad - some really bad - roads.

All in all. A great vehicle that I expect to last for hundreds of thousands of miles. A R3X is likely in my future two :)

If you had posted a few days ago, I would have joined you in praising my R1T. Unfortunately the truck has a leak in the air suspension and the quote is pretty high to fix it. Don’t know if I will be successful but I’m going to argue my point with management.

$5,700. To replace the from Dampers. Vehicle has 69,000 miles and 4 years old. Love everything about it, except this.
do you do any off roading at all? Curious because the longevity of the suspension is my biggest concern with this car

That is pricey. Given the o et saved on all other ICE repairs I’m not doing Îd replace them at half that cost. But …

Quite a bit. Not for extended days at a tîme though. It’s likely the fancy suspension IS the biggest cost center. Unless you crash it and want body work done on your coin :((((

Just to replace the front dampers? Not the air springs...?

No off-roading.

Sorry, didn’t mean to hijack the original thread.
Did you look into after warranty options? I think Rivian offers one that also covers the suspension. I heard of XCare too but not sure if they cover the supension

Here are the part numbers, pretty sure it’s just the damper

DAMPER MODULE ASSY – R1T; FRT LH (Part # PT00437091-D)
DAMPER MODULE ASSY – R1T; FRT RH (Part # PT00437092-D)

I just learned of xcare and will check them out.
