I have charged my R1T at a supercharger. I like the idea but a 6' cable might be a better choice. I would definitely consider it.
I would order it immediately.

I have never taken up two spots at a Tesla station. Maybe the several I have been to are newer but i am able to either take an end spot or if I have to be in the middle I pull in and angle the front over a little and the cable just reached with the spot next to me still open. I agree with some of the other posters if everyone charging whether Tesla or other chargers just thought for two seconds on how they could charge so as to be the least intrusive to others who want to charge it would go smoothly instead of having an entitled view of parking however we feel like. In my experience people have been very courteous at chargers for the most part. I have seen a few try to double up on a charger that can only use one cable at a time but I think that is out of ignorance mostly.

LOL.
Go ahead and waste your money if you like, but don't give me this crap about how I'm taking up "two" stalls. If the Tesla station is designed poorly (not all are, and most new ones are designed better), then a Tesla parked in one of those stalls blocks the adjacent one for Rivian drivers. Teslas don't have any more rights to use those chargers than Rivians do. Get over it and deal with it the same way all CCS vehicles do at EA chargers where we ALWAYS have a mix of vehicle charge port locations - we share and juggle and co-operate to make the best of the poor station layout. Anyone who doesn't do that is a poor excuse for a human being.
Bingo!!
LOL? Forget that. It is ROFLMAOx1000 that I must somehow feel guilty, responsible, and lose sleep over taking two stalls and therefore shell out money to fix that problem ( for some) that I did not create. Hint: I do not in the least.
Tesla authorized my Rivian to use the Tesla network. Don't like me taking two stalls?
Take it up with Tesla.

But that I shall spend even $0.01 of my own money for a glorified extension cord or anything else for that matter on this, well, a fool and his money easy part; I ain't no fool.

As has been said...while Tesla has authorized most to now use their SC's, no one on either side has done much to inform the consumer so of course this ensues but with patience and time, will sort itself out. Most people at the end of the day are quite reasonable.

The vast majority of Tesla drivers aren't on forums like this getting an appreciation of what would work best so stating they should do this or that is a waste. They aren't here to hear it. Your intended audience is still mostly unaware of what the new etiquette should be.

I certainly don't recall seeing anything from Tesla about this so even if there was, I've missed it and I do a lot of reading in the EV space generally.

Tesla fired all the people that would have probably better sorted this out so I blame Elmo for this. He fired them at a critical juncture in opening up SC's.

If you want to get angry, direct it at him but be kind to your fellow EV enthusiasts.

The extension cable show in that video is a 16' long prototype, the one they plan to sell is only 5' long. The presenter mentions this fact at the 4:00min mark in the video.
... and the bozo is still taking up two spots

Yeah, that is pretty lame...
I think that's just for the thumbnail to show how long the prototype cable is :)

In the video he parks in the correct spot to not block anyone. It's just a really difficult angle to get a picture showing exactly what the cable is and have the vehicle and stall in frame as well.

^ and the actual "production" extension cable is only going to be 5ft long, if he connected it to the pedestal a Tesla would use, it might not reach the charge port on the Ford.

They specifically confirmed in the video that it reaches fine for the F150. But I suspect there are other cars where the charging port is behind the wheel well in a way that makes it difficult. Hopefully they validate 5ft is the right length for everything.

Perfect timing to release this in the winter. There's no f-ing way isn't going to survive in the summer heat. I'm curious to know if Tesla will be sending them a C&D on this, as well.
