I took delivery of my adventure package R1T this past Friday. It is an amazing machine. Very pleased with the overall quality. There are a couple minor panel alignment issues, but otherwise I have no complaints. It drives so smoothly and is scary fast. I feel very fortunate to have gotten one so soon.

Anyone having problems getting the 21 inch road wheels with the standard machined aluminum wheels? The 20 inch AT tires are $1,800 upgrade.

It could be an employee truck. I find it hard to believe this is a customer. They would have completely missed the end of 2021 delivery estimates and jumped ahead of tens of thousands of people. But hey, people on the internet can say anything they want.

Congrats, and yes, as a Dec. 2018 deposit, I'm jealous...can you do me a favor? Let us know or post a picture of your Payload Rating. It's on one of the labels in your drive's door jar. I'm trying to see what the weight of the off-road pk is since Rivian will not tell us. I've seen with off-road, but not without. thank you

BigE, Rivian Customer Service told me: 8532 lbs or 3870 kg but they did not say whether with off road pack or without off road pack.

I also asked Rivian Customer Service about payload and their reply:

“The max payload for the R1T is 1,764 lbs. However, I don't have information about what it is with the underbody shield. As production continues to ramp up, we will have more concrete details on the difference in payload with the underbody shield.”

I understand that the underbody shield cannot be added after delivery.

Therefore it would be good to know:

1. what is the payload for R1T with large battery pack?

2. what is the payload for R1T with max battery pack?

I have not received a reply….yet.

I thought about switching to MB interior to increase my odds but but I just can‘t do it. I’m sticking with the light and airy OC interior at no extra charge.

Hi Endo, yes, the lack of answers from Rivian over the past few years on a specific payload rating is what has led me to ask those who have received their trucks to post the weight rating sticker. I wish Rivian would just post a spec sheet like other manufacturers with all different trim packages.

So yes, we know the 8,532 lbs is the GVWR, so the maximum weight the truck can weigh and safely handle. Then there is Payload Rating and Rivian has stated the Max payload is 1,764 lbs but has yet to tell us which trim level this is. Is this an R1T small pack with no extra's, or is it an R1T Explore (Large Pack) lightest wheels, no tonneau cover, no off-road, etc. Only Rivian knows at this time.

Question: Did you participate in the IPO? I have a theory that participants are getting bumped up.

I participated in the IPO and had similar order date and I have no info, no guide etc. I don’t think IPO has anything to do with it. It’s not in their order system.

There wasn’t any discuss of his employment status; The prevailing explanation on Reddit is that if someone cancels late in the process (ie after the vehicle is at the service center) Rivian diverts that vehicle the next individual in the service area with that configuration, regardless of order date.

I would t expect the Explore trim to weigh much less. A few less speakers, very similar seats, similar headliner, no wood.

Don't forget the powered tonneau cover. That plus several other small pieces as you stated may get one to 200 lbs.

With as many preorders as there are and as few service centers, I have a hard time believing that a Jan 2022 is the oldest matching config in that region.

It wouldn’t make business sense to deliver an early reservation holder a brand new vehicle from a brand new company if the nearest service center is 800 miles away from the buyers home address.
