I've had this set of Dodge wheels ($550 delivered for all four, small scuffs) for about 18 months ,as a back-up set for my R1T. It was time to rotate the tires on the R1S, so I thought I'd toss the Dodge wheels on with the OEM 20" Scorpions.

Ton's of compliments and completely changes the look from a people mover SUV to something a bit more aggressive. No rubbing in daily driving in Low, which is surprising considering the +25mm offsets, which causes the tires to stick out a bit, but I actually like it.

They look like the Dodge Ram Hellcat Replica Wheels, just in gloss finish, that you and I talked about months ago...which is what I am still running on my R1S:

Yes! Those are the ones, I just typed in Dodge wheels and posted it here, but I think people get the idea. Sorry Riviot. I think these are around $1,100 bucks for a set of four now, but I could care less about the four scuff marks, not exactly road rash

Any concerns with the 2200lb load rating? That's under the rear GVWR.

Who knows how safe any of these Chinese wheels truly are and to what standard they are actually testing to. I don't foresee any regular driving failures, but maybe a serious pot hole.....TBD...

No concerns...and I run heeeeavy with gear on my adventures. Plus I do a variety of off-roading...from running well-traveled trails, to harder and more technical routes that test the limits of my R1S. No issues over the last year, and no signs of stress or damage to the wheels. I do also inspect these wheels often, and rotate them frequently (every 5k mi).

That is solid, empirical data. Exactly what we are asking for.

FYI for any Seattle area folks looking to build a set, someone in Tacoma is selling a set for $250. I considered a third run and use one for a spare, but then I'd have 3 wheels looking for homes.

Anyone have thoughts on aluminum vs plastic centric rings? I've got a set of aluminum ones right now, but I'm somewhat worried about the ring seizing against the hub/wheel. Any durability concerns with plastic?

Theoretically, they only matter if you're switching bore size. If you're sticking with 2363s then I suggest aluminum and don't care about anti-seize.

I changed from AT to AS both in 2363s in spring with aluminum, they were seized on but it didn't matter. Later I put OEM 20s on to test efficiency difference, I had to remove rings and marred them so bad I threw them out. If they were plastic, I'd definitely toss.

Just had a chance to get the RAM wheels fitted. Worked with a tire shop to get them fitted - they weren't familiar with the vehicle, but had me guide them through the process. I'd appreciate a double-check of my steps to check that I didn't screw anything up.
  1. Tire change mode on (forgot to put in AT/highest, though)
  2. Popped off the jack covers and used my jackpucks to lift with a floor jack
  3. Removed 21" wheel
  4. Tapped on hub centric ring and tightened down 20" RAM wheel
Anything I missed (besides the AT/highest for tire change mode, hoping that didn't damage anything)?

The RAM wheels/tires were previously being used on another R1S w/ TPMS. Is there anything else I need to look out for now that the wheels are fitted (balance problems, etc.)?
  • TPMS hasn't resynced yet, but I haven't driven much. Hoping they sync up on the next drive.
  • They definitely protrude much more than the stock wheels, will have to see how efficiency is affected for highway miles.

You got the (corrected) steps right. Protrusion doesn't affect range as much as the tires themselves. I found similar range on identical tires, technically better range on the Ram rims.

Are these from @kanundrum ? If so, I would ask about the mileage warranty ?
