Is anyone having a problem with Amazon Music skipping since the update? I've reset the AV system but I'm still getting constant skips (more like hesitations) playing music. TuneIn is working fine. It's unusable.
I get it where sometimes, it "buffers" and then just skips the song all together, or just sits and spins while it thinks that maybe it wants to load the song, then skips the song. Sometimes, i just hit the next button to speed along the process.

I do not know the timing of it happening vs recent update, but I have experienced Amazon Music cutting out. I just thought it was due to connectivity.

Maybe if we had a REAL Amazon Music app instead of the Alexa cr@p, it would work better. :)

Things have gotten pretty bad, starting 2 releases ago (for me). The most recent update did make a slight improvement in the transition from wifi to cellular when leaving the house but it's not at all consistent and buffering in general is consistently much worse.

I would say any of the 2025 updates have been all a little underwhelming with the alexa/amazon updates.

I’m having the same issues. Works fine if I use my phone so it’s something with Rivian/Alexa and Amazon music. I wish they had a real app. In it’s current form it’s really not useable.

Oh, yes, it's absolutely a Rivian problem. Personally, I don't need a dedicated app for Amazon Music but I do need stable streaming - and it had been reasonably stable until 2025.10. I use 3 Alexa commands to do everything I need in Amazon Music - "play my music", "skip track", and on very rare occasion "play <title> by <artist>". I don't want to have to manage my music so I just let DJ Alexa play all my favorites and related. If I'm not in the mood for a particular song, I just skip to the next. Now, if I could set up an Alexa routine to automatically "play my music" every time I get in the car....

When I ask Alexa to play a song, Amazon music skips that song, starts a next random song, and I have to push "back" to get to the song I originally requested. Every time. So annoying.

That's a strange bug but not the kind of skipping the OP was referring to. Also not something I've experienced in 2+ years of Amazon Music in my Rivian or on my home stereo via my Fire TV Cube.

This is absolutely a Rivian 2025 OTA problem. Both of our Rivian's experience skipping, buffering and simply not playing. This is now at least 50% of the time for us.

Skipping/buffering/stuttering has certainly been a problem with mine after the last update or two. I can play Amazon Music without any trouble in my company car (over wireless Android Auto) or directly from my phone to a bluetooth speaker without any issues. Seems to be on Rivian's side, for sure.

Same issue for me, started with the 2025.10 update. Amazon music worked flawlessly for me prior to that. It also has the best sound quality to my ears, but the recent skipping makes it un-listenable. I did add this to upcoming service visit in early June, but not optimistic it will get resolved.

Its so annoying I'm just using Bluetooth till it hopefully gets fixed. It actually seems to do it in the same areas on my drive. Maybe its an issue with handing off the signal from tower to tower? Like how it does the same with wifi to mobile at home?

I'm experiencing this, too. Usually a song starts off fine for 30s-1m, then 100% of the time it starts dropping and slowing down. I don't think it's related to Internet connectivity, because it happens on wifi or even when sitting in a parking lot with full cell signal bars.

My semi-educated guess is that something is stopping Amazon Music from writing or fetching 'chunks' of the song.
